Excellent for finding your location.
This app is great for checking your location on a map with the grid reference. It would be excellent in an emergency to let someone know where you are. The ability to share your location by sending a text or email is great. Saves making mistakes when typing. I must admit to prefering the layout of the previous version. The GPS location and map coordinates were on the same page and the grid letters were easier to read without glasses. I also like the old icon much more.Show lessScotty;

Excellent for volunteer SAR work.
I have been using this free app for quite some time in the field during search operations. It is simple and to the point when all you need is a set of coordinated to relay to command or arrange pick by helicopter. Sharing your location via text when radio comms fails is a significant plus for searcher safety. I did prefer the previous version that had both coordinate systems on one screen, but hey, how hard is it really to swipe a screen. On a side note. I still carry a dedicated gps unit as the antenna is far superior to an iPhone and a buttery change is possible after several hours or days in the bush.Show lessZrig

Great for quick Lat & Long
This app now has a display on the apple watch which, when sailing, enables me to quickly glance my lat & long on my watch. It's really handy if I'm not in view of the boat's GPS.
The display can be changed to suit metric elevation as well as decimal lat and long. It's a simple app which does exactly what it says.Show lessBig AL zz

No link to Google maps anymore?
Great app, but I used to be able to copy coordinates to notes which would link to Google maps, unfortunately not happening anymore and was probably the best function.Noelr70

You are still able to Share a link to Google Maps. A custom Share template has been added to allow more control over the shared message. A link to Google Maps may be included in the Share format along with other text and parameters.Very good
