No dates on articles
The reporting of this paper is what you’d expect for a rural location. It’s a decent paper except that if you read articles in the app (unless you click on the virtual paper section), none of them are dated. I find it very frustrating not knowing when an article was reported. How strange for a newspaper not to date its work.

Great local news
I absolutely love all the local sports coverage, great pictures. Plus all the great articles keeping us involved on what’s going on around us locally and nationally.
Have to wrestle with this app.
Not terribly user-friendly. When you search in a category and read an article and go back you have to re-search to the category again to continue to another article. Pop-up windows make the obituaries insanely difficult to scroll through. Very frustrating. Simply put, it is poorly structured. I expect better from a news publication.

Bad user interface
The navigation on the app is terrible. You go from 1) home to 2) the list of obituaries to 3) an individual obituary then you hit back and you are return to the home screen starting over again. In between navigating clicks you also need to close several pop up ads.
Also, why aren’t there dates on the articles?

My Daily Read
I start my day with The Berkshire Eagle on line. It helps keep me informed of local and national events and provides a voice of reason amidst all the clamor. I cannot imagine being without it.
Berkshire Eagle App
Excellent electronic version of the Berkshire Eagle. The only problem I have with it is when I’ve finished reading it I have nothing to clean my windows and start my wood stove with!
Easy to use app
Always informative and easy to use whether at home or on the road.
Good paper, bad app
The newspaper is fine. The app is brutal. Falls way short compared to other newspaper apps.
Three big problems: First, on the home page, every headline is cut off, so they read like, “Pittsfield Mayor Announces…” or “Tanglewood Summer Features Robert…” None of my other newspaper apps do this. It’s ridiculous to not be able to scan headlines.
Second, it takes forever to load individual articles after clicking on the partial headlines. Again, just comparing this app’s performance to other newspaper apps.
Third, the search function performs poorly. If I search, for example, local high school baseball scores, I’ll often get results featuring scores from years ago before scores from this week show up. Why?
Good paper. Deserves a much better app.

Eagle App
Good to have the app and all the latest news at your fingertips. The app works and it’s fairly easy to navigate. Thanks BE
Great local paper
Eagle has great writing covering local and national news. A must for anyone with a home or interest in Berkshires. As mostly a weekender, enjoy being kept up to date.
