  • Nothing else like it

This is both sophisticated, and incredibly easy to use. Results are amazing. No other app does what this one does. Very solid. Has yet to crash on me. Great tool to get a specific look/feel to your photos.
  • A good start

I like this app. The controls are fast, easy to use, and provide a useful toolset to manipulate images. As others have mentioned, it would be helpful to have the ability to choose more tint options. The current list is limited. my main issue is the output quality. The final images seem excessively grainy with obviously digital artifacting. Maybe I'm missing a setting, but I'd hesitate to use the final images as a background on my iPad, much less print them or use them for anything with a higher resolution. It would be wonderful if the final output could be smoother.

  • Excellent little app

This app produces some very good looking monochrome pictures (there are four different tints), letting you adjust brightness inside and outside a "vignette" shape. The size and position can easily be changed, and there are six presets into which your favourite shapes. There is also a contrast dial. There is in app help.

Overall very easy to use, fast and produces excellent results. Would recommend for anyone wishing to get instantly creative on the go with their iPhone, as long as you like monochrome effects.

  • Nothing special when compared to other apps

I purchased this app today after reading many great reviews. I have purchased many photo editing apps and use them on a regular basis. The best editing apps are those with a wide range of "looks" that allow user customization. Well, Noir hits on one some limited area in photo editing with some degree of user customization. It does what it does with some average results. There's simply not enough here to keep me coming back to this app for my photos. I can get similar results with Camera+, Camera Genius, Picture Show, Photo Wizard, Plastic Bullet, 100 Cameras in 1, or many others, and these other apps offer so much more. Can't seem to get too exicted about the "looks" in this app. It's just ok.

  • Best B&W photo app!

Of the numerous photo apps I use this is by far my fav for black and white photos!
  • Transforms your photos in seconds!

This was one of those 'it looks too good to be true apps', but I actually found the price reassuring because rightly or wrongly i felt that the developer had invested enough in this app to make it slightly more expensive. I wasn't disappointed! If you love bring creative with the photos on your phone then this app is a must have.

Very simple concept which produces stunning results in seconds. I really couldn't believe how easy it is to use. Lovely execution of the app and the finished product is breathtakingly good.

My main request at present would be a full size 'preview' feature, and perhaps
the ability to upload directly to Facebook. But these are minor requests for an otherwise stunning app.

Yes you could reproduce these effects easily on a computer, but I've not found any other app yet which does quite the same thing anywhere near as well.

  • Fantastic App!

Noir Photo gives you lighting control over your photographs unlike any other app in the App Store. It feels like you're lighting a 3D scene rather than a 2D image!

Developer, please add tint customization and possibly a saturation control wheel in a future update and I'll easily increase this rating to 5 stars.

  • Pretty great little app for pre-viz

I got this app to aid in pre-visualizing noire style photos to give me a better idea what will happen in video. Works great.

The only thing I would add is the ability to control desaturation, as the film I will be shooting is not going to be completely desaturated. If that were added, it would add an immense amount of control.

  • Nice idea but lacks feature

I am a big fan of Magic Bullet Looks. So Noire seems a nice idea and looks cool.

But I cannot find a way to customize the tint and this makes Noire quite limited for me. Why would I want just to use the factory tints?
  • Best in black and white software

Easy to use, great results. What more to say?
