Very good app, like very much. Thank you!
  • Reasonable App

Very basic. Room for a lot of improvement. For example Fragrant orchid is treated a one, not the three sub/species that are actually present in Britain.
This could be a great app with a few decent updates.
  • Newby

New to this app. New to identifying orchids Finding it very useful when I take my dogs out for long walks. It could maybe be improved by simplified pen/ink sketches to clarify flower structures, but it is very good as is.

  • I just love the searching method

This app (like many) has good pictures and descriptions of orchids. But what sets this app apart is the fantastic searching method. It actually gives you a % probability that an orchid matches. This is fantastic compared to any other app I have tried.
  • Good app

I should state before I comment that although I provided photos for the app, I had no other input into it.....
The app is reasonably comprehensive and would now benefit from updating the taxonomy to match current thinking, and start to add other forms, to sub-species level at least.
It is clear and easy to use, and perfect for beginner and those with some experience. The sightings section might benefit from avoiding showing exact locations of the really rare species

  • Excellent clear help to identify these difficult flowers. Wish they did one for other Flowers.

    Well done.
  • Great app!

Great app, with room for improvement in the future as well.
  • Orchid app

This is just the right kind of orchid app for the birder browsing around the countryside in the summer months when migrant birds have gone through and other wildlife becomes more interesting. There are other apps in this series which are equally useful. The photos and descriptions are good enough to identify each of the species. Fuller details including variations can be had back at the car or home from a paper field guide if required. Considering the price it is good value for money and people new into the orchid field will find this very useful and may not need more detail until they get well into the subject.

  • Rather minimal information

I want to like this app but find it scant in detail and minimalistic overall.

It seems to have been put together quickly and cheaply with the main intention of getting it on the shelf rather than producing a quality app.

Pyramidal Orchid: I've never seen it spelt 'Pyrimidal' and I've checked many books.

Flowering period is surely part of a plant's ecology, not its anatomy?

    Disappointing overall.

Subsequent updates have corrected the errors mentioned above and several other improvements have been made. Still scope for further improvements but now much better and happy to give it four stars.
