  • Fun and Whimsical Creativity

Funny, whimsical fun awaits those who get this app.
It was easy enough for the younger kids in my class to get the basics of this app, though I see how it would be more appropriate for the 6-8 range as it does have layers of complexity to it. The controls for object placement, resizing and rotation are intuitive and easy to use. The saving and sharing features of this app work great for me. It is also great that this app allows photos to be imported and modified and used as a base for creativity.

  • I love it

I love this game it is so much fun.
  • Too much fun!

This app is way too much fun no matter what your age! Easy to use. Such a great way to create a greeting card to send for many occasions. A feature I would suggest to add is a way to group items together so that you can group and move multiple items together.
  • Impressed

Worth the 4 bucks. Excellent graphics. You can turn off the music if you are annoyed by it. My 5 yr old and 2 yr old love it. The 2 year old can't use it without help from big sister, but she tries :) I find it relaxing for myself to create these faces from random objects.
  • ANNOYING & DISTRACTING music

I have wanted to purchase this app for my elementary art students for some time, and finally bit the $4 bullet (I've never spent that much on ANY app-even for myself-so this was a big purchase). The app is very detailed and offers many choices of items with which to build faces. However, the multitude if options causes the app to be a bit more complex than I thought it would be. I had planned to use this with 1st graders, in a one-iPad-classroom with 30+ kids, but I am concerned it will be a little more complicated and time consuming for many of the kids to use in my intended setting. (If this app were to be used with unlimited time, kids would eventually figure out how to manipulate everything.)

Although the overall design and content is excellent, I gave this app only 3 stars. The reason for a lower rating is the highly annoying and distracting sound effects and music. I know the music can be paused, but I don't want it on at all, especially in a classroom. The sound effects are cute but the novelty wears off almost immediately. Plus, I haven't found a way to turn off the sound effects, which should certainly be customizable especially given the high price paid for the app that seems to have all the bells and whistles (literally)! The sounds are so astonishingly annoying that I was compelled to lower my rating for the otherwise excellent app (but where is the Undo button?). Please update to mute all sounds!

  • Outstanding!

Faces iMake is a truly innovative and unique creativity app, where you use common objects to make a face or picture. Using a preset base, or your own photo, you can add objects and turn, resize, or copy them multiple times for making layers or patterns; Why not make a nose out of a bowling pin...hair from multiple teddy bears, or an owl out of lace gloves? Great for sequencing and targeting skills - pinching, elongating and placement of pieces are a few of the motor actions that can be practiced. There are even a replicas of famous paintings like the Mona Lisa and Girl with a Pearl Earring in the FaceWorld Archives to get you inspired. I love how this app teaches re-purposing objects, and to actually look at things in a new light. I feel this helps children learn to think in an expansive manner...rather than just thinking in habitual linear patterns. The tutorials are wonderfully done, and the narration places you in a playful mood. Highly Recommended .

  • Crashed

So disappointed that it continually crashed on opening. Tried contacting tech support in many ways, many times but no response. Totally disappointed that I received no assistance from Tech Support.
  • But one thing....

Love this app but one thing, my son was watching the video tutorials, and when the tutorial finishes, there is an option to watch other videos not related to the app. Some of those videos contain inappropriate content and profanity, so I have removed the app until this issue is fixed. I have my son's iPad set up to block this kind of stuff, but somehow, that was able to get thru. So unfortunately, I have to give you two stars instead of five. You'll get five when its fixed!
