Reviews of SpeakLine

  • Accurate but laborious

It provides accurate outputs, however I found both repositioning the (for lack of a better tern) "reading cursor" while keeping text and audio in sync to be impossible. My workaround was to edit the file in removing all text preceding the text of current interest, then uploading the reevised file. It's a quite tedious effort.

Might this ultimately have been a user-error/lack of knowledge issue? I don't know.
  • It's okay in a jam

The read4me app back in the day was the best I find to be able to write an artilce and then have it read it back to me and edit as I go.

While this app allow you to edit as it read to you it starts all over from the beginning which is a deal breaker for me I have to keep looking becuase this is fustrating to have to keep listen to it from the beginning
  • Easy and quick

This is a quick and dirty way to save text to an audio file using the magic of Apple's TTS function. Long ago, I used to use a similar package called Narrator, which could more tricks, like changing voices mid-stream, and perhaps also altering the speed mid-stream. However, Speakline has the main function of reading aloud covered well.
