Brilliant
The only think that would be nice would be a clear / delete option so you can quickly erase what you’ve just typed.

Thanks for downloading Pinyin Typist, and for calling it brilliant! 👍🏼 FYI, from the Info tab: “to correct a Pīnyīn tone mark that’s showing the wrong tone or that’s over the wrong vowel, just “move the insertion point to the immediate right of the Pīnyīn final in question, if the insertion point isn’t already there, and then “tap the tone button above the regular keyboard for the tone you want.” Also, tapping the button at the top right (with the arrow coming out the top) makes available the Delete All command, which instantly deletes all the text in the Pīnyīn Typing tab typing area and gives you a fresh start there. (Use it carefully!) Happy Pīnyīn typing!
Useless

Hi, I think you’re referring to a bug that can occur sometimes when the Pīnyīn Typing screen has been filled up with text, and one has dismissed and then resummoned the onscreen keyboard. In such situations the onscreen keyboard’s Pīnyīn Typing bar can cover the bottom section of the text, where one is typically wanting to type. I agree that this can be very annoying when one is working with long stretches of text that fill more than one screen of space. Honestly, with my current situation, I can’t promise when I’ll be able to fix this bug. However, for now, I can tell you that I have found that changing the device orientation (i.e. portrait to landscape, or vice versa, and perhaps back) can reset the bottom of the typing area, as can quitting Pīnyīn Typist in the multitasking view and restarting it. Then, typing and scrolling at the bottom of the screen can resume as normal. So, yes, this can be very annoying when encountered, but there are workarounds for now—the app is not *totally* useless! Hopefully things will eventually work out for me to be able to fix the root problem, and to implement some of the ideas I have for making the app better. **UPDATE, June 20, 2021:** This bug has been addressed in the current update of Pinyin Typist. Also, support for current iPhones & iPads has been improved, and support for hardware keyboard shortcuts has been added. Check it out! Wayne Wong TroubadourWorks Developer of Pīnyīn Typist
