Overall a nice idea but the implementation is a bit careless
Although skylights apparently contribute to the total heating and cooling loads, they are listed as contributing zero in HTML summary and skylights tab. Also, the screen for saving the summary appears and disappears before the user can pick which folder to save it in. Data entry is a bit closer cumbersome because even after entering a value, it might disappear if one neglects to hit tab or return. Little things like that make the app seem less polished than it could be.Show lessno nickel name
Program will not load screens

Pretty decent app
Fairly simple to use especially on site. I've had numerous load programs and this does work properly. My only reason for three stars is there is no specific construction data for foam insulation. Most popular load programs have specifics for this. I have called and talked to these guys and they say just choose the R value. Well that's what the program is supposed to do after you choose thickness and poundage of the foam being used as well as closed cell or open cell. I certainly wouldn't pay more than 50 bucks for this program. Just saying.Show lessEyemareader
Overpriced
This app puts a lot of emphasis on some less-than-essential data and graphs that, while visually appealing, provide mostly irrelevant information.
The interface is attractive, but data entry is TEDIOUS and yields fewer results than you'd expect from a $35 app ($50 if you bought it when I did) into which you've just spent 25 minutes scrolling, tapping, sliding, and typing.
If you're only interest is impressing customers with your tech toys, go for it.Show lessLousyHammer
Good app
The app itself works very well, main problem that I have had is that local permitting will not except heat loads from this program because it doesn't say on the reports that it was designed using the manual J 7 or 8 edition. It is only a one or two line and I would even write it out for you "This HVAC load calculation has been performed using sound engineering principles as prescribed by Manual J seventh and eighth abridged editions and ASHRAE fundamental. Provided by Camel Software Corporation."

Very useful and easy to use
I downloaded this app when my Trane rep. recommended it. I also attended one of the weekly training webinars, and started using it out in the field soon after.
It really has proven to be a timesaver for doing residential equipment sizing, and it really impressed my customers when I was able to do the loads in front of them and then email them a quick report.
I love that is is so easy to use and I can email an Excel spreadsheet with all the results back to the office.
I hear that the app is also used to power the load calc capabilities of the latest Trane MAP application that is available to their resellers.

A game changer
I'm a Trane reseller and this app was recommended to us. I have not been disappointed so far. Before this app, I usually wrote information about the house into my paper-notebook, then went back to the office to enter the information into my desktop-based software. Now, with this app, I can enter all the information into my iPad, then email it back to my office for further analysis. This has really revolutionized the way I do loads. Also, my residential clients are quite impressed with the reporting and the fact I am using the iPad for determining the size of equipment. I highly recommend this app!Show lessLZ2124
Incredibly useful
I use this app daily out in the field. I don't know what I did without it. My customers are so impressed that I am able to do a cooling load then show them the reports on the screen and then email. It's really helped me secure more business.Hvacguy100
