  • My favorite tab tool

Other apps have tabs but none have the ability to change the tabs yourself. There have been so many times when I find a tab online but disagree with one or two chords. Now I can change the tab so it's perfect. Importing tabs from websites is super easy and editing them can be as painless or involved as you want. I'm a perfectionist so I love that I can go into it and define the chorus of the song and the exact place where the chords match the lyrics. The other thing I love about it is that I can finally play along live with a tab. There have been so many times when I play and sing along with a tab and then the tab stops after the first chorus and says "repeat chord pattern for the rest of the song". Now I can make sure that I have the COMPLETE song and lyrics for when I'm playing live. One of my favorite features is being able to tap the table where your iPad is sitting to scroll the song. I would love to see the ability to customize how many lines the app scrolls and the speed at which it scrolls, however. Sometimes it catches me off guard when it skips so quickly and can be a bit disorienting. Nevertheless, this app is the best alternative I've found to having to stop playing to scroll. I do believe future updates may make this app perfect. For now I give it four stars because it is a great concept and if it were to implement some of the things I outlined above as well as suggestions from others I would give it five stars. This app is definitely worth the price. Especially considering that other apps charge a monthly fee for tabs.

  • Needs a little tweak

    Not bad, nearly there.

Nice clear display and operation is easy.

The app itself is OK but importing is cumbersome, you have to bring songs into iTunes AND import them within App !!!

Would rather havethe 'Export' button and 'AS' button reversed, I would be more likely to use 'AS' than export.

If you put them into App they should be there, no need for second step. Or better still, use Dropbox to load a folder of songs in one step like a similar ChordPro app, next version maybe.

Some editing features are also a bit long-winded but overall its a nice little App.

  • Rockindoctor

Awesome app. Incredible customer support with instant answers. They even added a feature based on my question and request. It's so easy to import lyrics to playlist from Internet...fast!
    Sweet! Thank You!
  • Hope

Great but I can t import files from pc and I wish it would keep its functionality ( shack2scroll) when displaying songs in its original format like PDF or word doc
  • Great App!

What a great alternative to carrying around binders full of chord charts. I just downloaded the iPad app yesterday and have entered a few songs, both manually and from the Internet. It's easy to use and has an attractive interface. I haven't gotten around to using every feature yet, but this is a winner! If I could suggest one improvement to make it more convenient to use it would be that when entering the chord letter after the bracket symbol ( for example [E] ) if it would automatically put the first letter of the chord in as an upper case letter. Thanks for a very useful app.

  • PG songbook

Doesn't crash on my 4s or iPad 1. It's a highly useful app that let's you collect and standardise tabs and link them to iTunes. For covers bands this is a perfect app! You can easily do set lists too.
  • Excellent

I really like the direction the developer has taken with this app. It has useful, sensible features and not a lot of fluff. It's very well thought out. Using the intertial sensor to function as a page-turner is brilliant. It's got a few glitches, but nothing that has gotten in the way of the enjoyable use of PG SongBook. The developer provides super-responsive customer service, so it looks only to get better. Even with the glitches, I give it full marks now.

  • Keeps crashing

Waste of money! Keeps crashing every time I press the Edit button. Crashes as well when trying to transpose!
Would love to get my money back!
    Expensive app that does little.
  • Best Songbook yet

I am rating this app five stars for one feature, the ability to turn the page with a tap of the foot.
I have found it impossible to get scrolling in other apps to accomplish what I need to do.
Getting all of my songs to fit on one page just can't be done in a font I can read on an ipad and add on foot switches that work in other apps are expensive and just one more piece of gear to keep track of.

The only problem so far was my inability to read the help files an email to the developer was promptly answered and got me past my self induced roadblock.

    Free tech tip:
If your song files are .txt format just rename them to .pro prior to file transfer in iTunes.

Thanks for the solution to the page turn issue.
I am using my iPad on a music stand and a gentle tap on the stand base does the trick!

Please keep updating and adding features.
I would like to be able to have more control of font / colors / background color

Thanks again for a great app.
