There are several apps that will turn your iPad into a photo frame in the App Store. I chose Black Frame based on price and the fact that the developer does not collect or share user information (as described in the App Store’s App Privacy section for this app). I also liked the fact that the developer is in Germany and not China etc. This is the first photo frame app I have installed and I’m using it on an old iPad I would have otherwise given away to family or friends.
If the interface is not intuitive, at first, but I was able to load some pictures and start a slideshow pretty quickly. I couldn’t find a manual or instructions in English (or even German) and that would improve the user experience for me. For example, the slider for picking how long to display the slideshow goes up to eight hours, but I was looking to make it display continuously. I finally found that if you slide it to zero, it will never turn off (I.e. display continuously). Personally, I think that is on the wrong slide of the slider, logically. Also, the word title is misspelled in the app, but I imagine that’s a translational error. I believe the developer has done an excellent job with this app, the price is appropriate and it has sustained development over many years and I hope Mr. Gasche will continue this for years to come. This is more of a comment than a review for which I give the app five stars. Kudos to Mr. Gasche on Black Frame!
BTW, I couldn’t find it in the App Store by searching “Black Frame,” but when I searched “blackframe” it showed up. What’s up with that
