Reviews of Play Count

  • Love it! Just one request....

Functionality is great. Makes keeping track of play count MUCH easier than pen and paper. Totally worth $2. I also take screenshots for supporting documentation in case any parents have concerns. I only wish I could change the number of plays needed before the players go from yellow to white. My league is 8 plays/half, and the app appears to be setup for 13 plays.
  • Functionally works needs teams

I love the idea of this app, and the basic functionally works perfectly. After using the app for just one game it became clear that the app needs a couple features.

Almost every youth team divides the kids into teams, so they can rotate each team and this exists on both offense and defense. Being able to assign players to a team is a must have feature of this app to be 5 stars. (Especially for $2)

For example, you might have three teams for your offense/defense lineups, and also have a kickoff team and kick return team. Most couches also have custom name for each team, so the ability to name each team would also really beneficial.

With all the players in order it was difficult to find the players that were on the bench in enough time before the next play. If you could have the teams set up and select every player in that team it would be a huge time saver and improve accuracy.
  • Great idea... But could use some improvements...

    1. Be able to separate stats from offense and defense
    2. Add the ability to track plays by player name. Coaches usually know a player's name before they remember the player's number.
    3. Add the ability to track who is on the field vs who is on the bench. Less keystrokes is always better.
    4. If you could integrate this with play by play capability, that would be even better.

Top 3 are a must, #4 is a 'good to have'.

    Thanks!
