Good but....

It’s good, but bit slow. There is no score to let you know if your playing against someone good or a total beginner, also no choice. You can’t co to use and play the same person and no talking messaging the person...bit outdated..

Can’t play

I tried to play online and with friends and random people and all I get is a blank board that u can’t get out of unless u close the app

One issue away from 5 stars

Issue: This game used to work fine, but the past few days it has lost connection multiple times, whether on WiFi or LTE, both with strong connections. Half of the time this manifests in the other players piece appearing on top of mine before failing, otherwise just a brief pause after clicking my piece and a “you lost” message saying I lost connection.
Another thing: you really should implement a better platform for competition. If you showed relative skills in game (% of games won, # of wins) and had more obvious messages about how the player compares, this would drive people to play your game more and increase profit significantly. You’re welcome.

Hi fjhshdbsybs! Thanks for your feedback. This should be fixed now as there were some issues with our multiplayer service for a while. Sorry for the inconvenience. As for the competition, there are a few things we have planned for the future in terms of making it more competitive and fair in terms of skill level online but as of now, the online mode will stay as it is. I will forward your suggestion about the display of % games won or # of wins though.

DON’T WASTE YOUR TIME - BUGGY

While the online server is a great feature allowing you to play against anyone in the world, it will randomly disconnect you in the middle of the game and hand you a loss, even if you are a mathematical lock to win. It’s extremely frustrating and has nothing to do with the user. This is not a new issue if you look back through the reviews. DON’T WASTE YOUR TIME OR MONEY UNTIL THEY FIX IT.

Hi Dongorz! Thanks for your feedback. What update are you referring to? The last update was made in May and didn't change anything other than fixing an exploit and some bugs. The last visible change was made in February, changing the design of the screen that is shown at the end of the game. It would be nice to know what you don't like in particular of what changes you are talking about! Thanks!

Online gaming won’t work

I got this app about a week ago and it was doing really well connecting to other players and getting the game moving, but it can’t find any players anymore. I thought there was a problem with my phone only, but my friend can’t play online either. It’s a really good app though, so it would be really nice if they would find the problem and fix it.

Pretty good Othello app but i wish there was more

pretty good othello app. i wish the ads weren’t so obnoxious, i wish the in app purchase to remove ads wasn’t a subscription but just a onetime purchase. the next thing i want to be able to save or see the board at the end of the game.

Ruined! Now painfully slow and ugly!

This used to be a cracking game, but since the last update, it is nice hideously slow, to the point of being unplayable. The interface us now cluttered and ugly. In fact, it is so bad, I have deleted it.

Hi Andym107. Thanks for your feedback. When was the last time you played if I may ask? The interface of the game hasn't changed in approximately 4 months. However I'm sorry that you dislike the current state of the app. If you use an older device to run the game, then the game can be slower on harder difficulties and have longer loading times in general. In that case you could try to close some of the apps in the background. Also the latest iOS updates are decreasing the processing power of the phone in order to keep the battery alive for longer which can also cause longer loading times and slower apps.

Good app but flippin annoying you can’t turn the sounds off.

Hi John#m. Thanks for your feedback. You can turn the sound off if you go to the settings (the gear icon in the top right in the main menu) and then under "SFX" you should be able to set it from "On" to "Off". This way, the game should be muted and don't produce any sound anymore. Hope this helps!

Poor memory management & logic

Program marks me a loser if connection loses. Lost several games like that. Blocked people turn into buddies which is totally absurd. Seems like there is more communication back and forth than necessary. Keep it simple guys. Use proper data objects to make the program run efficiently.
