There's a lot to be said for this game, and most reviewers have said it...beautiful to look at, nice music, great sounds, great mix of mini-games... Of course, it's kitschy - it's a 3-tile matching game wrapped in a cartoony resource-gathering game, but it kinda works, as long as you don't think you're building Roma!
But then you'll suddenly realise most of the later levels have nothing to do with your skill : they're just pure chance!
When you've lost 19 lives, one after the other, on the same level, AND spent all your resources, on the same level, you'll start to wish the game would just end. On the 27th attempt, and with a score of well over a million, I lucked through. Afterwards, instead of feeling great (I'VE BEATEN IT! WOO HOO!), you just feel like... meh
It's just really poor level design - as usual, it looks prettier than it needs to, and that ruins the gameplay.
But for thr first few levels, it's great fun.
