It's basically Apple's built-in dictionary (New Oxford American Dictionary). Add tap to define feature and thesaurus to make this the best and smallest dictionary app!
A simple front end for the built in dictionary in iOS 5. Small, fast, focused app. Also saves your history and allows you to export it. I would have paid a buck for this but it's free with no ads. Fantastic work here.
This is one of the simplest Dictionary apps available on the App Store and I like that it uses the built-in iPhone dictionary.
I'd like one other addition: that I could choose Helvetica as the font for the main application for a consistent appearance.
I think otherwise I like that it does less because I'm able to use this on a 3GS almost as fast as on a 4S. It's superb and Ninja Words will see less usage on my iPhone now that I have this.
This dictionary is perfect. It's quick, it's light, and it's reliable. Furthermore, it embarrasses all the other dictionary applications in the app store. Never before have I felt so inclined to share my thoughts on an app. It is truly unfortunate that it this dictionary is not more popular.
This is a GREAT dictionary. I am really impressed. I have to look up a lot of random and strange words as a student nurse (who also has to take Government and Criminology classes!) and nearly every word I have looked up so far has been in this FREE dictionary app! Its absolutely a no brainer, it's free, but even if it wasn't it would be very worth it.
Also, it keeps a history of the words you look up. You can email this list, save, copy, or refer back to it at any time...so if that annoying word keeps popping up and also, unfortunately, keeps popping out of your head---it's right THERE in your history list below the search bar! Awesome.
The iPhone has a built-in dictionary and this app makes it much easier to access. It could use a copy an paste feature, but it's hella fast. My only complaint is the icon. It looks low-res. Like a snowy black-and-white television.
Everyone giving this 5 stars was right to do so. The awesome thing about this dictionary is that I can look up medical terms and I can find them, another thing is that it is free. Finally a helpful dictionary app.
The title of my review says it all! I've been looking for an app like this for the longest time! Considering I have to do many vocabulary packets for English, this is a great app because it has everything I need in simple terms! There are no lengthy or wordy definitions! Just the bare minimum! Great app because it's just what I needed!
The interface is very minimalist and simple, which is a good thing. It seems to use the dictionary that the iPhone comes with (but which can only use through the "define" function on safari). So it let's you use the New Oxford American dictionary. It is very light weight and fast. It is missing two features, it doesn't have a thesaurus nor a "tap to define" feature within a definition. I recommend this app!
Super fast and lightweight. It just uses the built-in iOS 5 dictionary.

Also, when viewing a definition, a swipe to the right brings you back to the search page. Nice touch.
