Nice app!
Does exactly what it says it does, no frills. The only issue I have had is if it shows my location I cant place a point at my location.
It would be nice if it had a follow function where it places points or a path walked (or driven) based on your gps location.
Overall though a very good app. Especially the email function!Show lessrmars
Support of scholarship
It is truly wonderful what entrepreneurs do! This program on top of the map program is magnificent. I use it to support historical and natural history reading. The ability to see the ground and/or the political boundaries without having fingers in the book is magical. The shortfalls in search are minimized by shrinking the image till the general location is in view. Then expand as needed! I measure ships and boats in the Suez Canal and continental scaled features. Does the program measure great circle distances? Wonderful!
Desiderata: geographic locations, degrees and minutes for designated points. GPS makes this the lingua franca now. Second, as a long term objective, the ability to present features on common layers as in Geographic Information Systems would be really neat! It would allow removing the highway grid to see what the ground looked like in 1944, 1776 or even 1066. Even highlighting the hydro layer to better understand the relief might be possible.Show lessJeff O'Byrne

But ever since it has moved from google maps to apple maps its ordinary as you can only zoom in to a certain point which isn't close enough.Paudes1969

One of the best ones
One of the best Apps to measure distances. A suggestion for a few fixes and changes. Landscape mode does not look right. If you want to radically change the pisition of a marker, instead of high precision arrows, a hold on top and drag somewhere quickly would be MUCH faster. Perhaps change from area to distance by tapping on the area or distance tag at the top of screen instead of via menu. Allow for interpolated over-zooming in the map, even if map gets a little blurry. When I manually nudge a position at current max zoom, it moves by over 1m, that can mean a large error down the road. By allowing over-zoom we could nudge the corners or positions down to a sub foot level. Great App!Show lessTornadoNewbie
Easy to use
This app is just what I needed. I had previously used distance calculator app, but that was hard to add points. This map measure app is so easy to use. Just tap and add pin points. Also, much easier to change units of measure in this app than others.JumpmanSr

Great Fun!!! and functional . Not bad for a "FREEEE" App!
If the wife says too far to walk while on holidays you can at least show how far it is "Really!!" and show a more realistic view of how far it is without guessing.
Looks as though the App is using "Google Maps" so is hungry for power and looks as though it is not an "Off-line" App. So if in a Wifi spot OK but be careful about upload/download charges while traveling.

Useful and easy to use
When I got this I didn't realize just how useful it would be. Great for planning bike rides with the kids. Excellent app. Almost 5 stars, would be if you could name the saved to something more informative then the default._green_eggs_
