Great for schools
This app is wonderful! The poses are dynamic and varied. The costuming is excellent and the instructional videos were a huge bonus. Also because the models are clothed and not nude, I can use this app to teach figure drawing in high school.
An excellent value
It's unbelievable to me that people are complaining about the price of this app.
Can you imagine how much it must have cost in both time and money to hire models and shoot thousands of professional quality photos of them using expensive gear. On top of that you get an entire drawing course in the form of instructional videos.
And the whole package was created by a guy with decades of real-world industry experience.
And you can get all that and carry it around on your pocket. And these people are complaining because it costs a lousy ten bucks.
Look of you have a skill that takes years of hard effort to acquire and you invest hundreds of hours into building something where you're sharing that knowledge, it's reasonable to expect a fair price for that.
Anyway, this is an awesome app and an incredible value, so of you want to work on your drawing skills I recommend buy it.

Great app!
I found this app well worth the money. I can do a long pose drawing or sneak in a few gesture sketches at the office. Also love the hand pics too!
Needs more
I like the idea for this app but it's too expensive for what little you get. I wanted more variety of models and action poses. It was worth $5 to me not $10. I'd be happy to get more variety and less angles of the same poses.
Not enough references
They are all the same model. The poses can usually be found in better gesture books and plus more. This app won't make justice to many artist unless it has at least a bi-weekly update on new models, new poses, new demonstrations on foreshortening, quick gestures, placement, and more. I am disappointed in both of the apps silverbook has to offer.

Awesome app!
I've been drawing for many years, and have used many different versions of pose books over time. This app fills a need that has been unanswered to date. It offers a great reference, amazing ideas for the use of the poses, and very detailed tutorials.
It is the most complete package I have ever seen. I especially like the timed poses. It is like going to a drawing workshop without having to leave the house. This is a must for any artist who wants to practice their craft.

Great app
This app is one of my go to programs for reinvigorating my stale drawings, not only because it offers useful poses for a variety of characters and personalities; but it also offers invaluable video lessons from a teacher who knows how to break down gesture concepts into very simple lessons. He covers everything from construction, gesture, color, drapery, lighting, etc. There are 10 lessons in total averaging about 3-7 minutes. Perfect amount of time to explain the lesson, without me losing interest.
The programs also has a time posed function which allows you to determine how many poses you want to see and for how long. Allowing for you to practice how to capture quick gestures much like a life drawing class.
At $9.99 for each of the programs (male and female) it is one of the most expensive apps I have ever bought, but definitely the best buy for an artist reference. I have an entire hardbook library of reference pose books and the models seem stale compared to the ones in this app.
Mind you the figures are mostly fully clothed and there is no nudity in this app and the models are not traditionally beautiful. But these models are professionals and they know how to present the poses in a way to highlight the tilts and dynamism of the pose, as opposed to all my reference books which all the beautiful models appear fully grounded and a novice like me can't quite discern the tilts in the figure, yet. Also the models are lighted in such a way, you can get a full understanding of the depth and width of the figures which is a weakness of photo reference, causing the tendency to copy the outline as opposed to the construction of the pose.
I can't say enough about this app. It beats the pants off the reference books I spent $25 a pop on, so buy them and see how incredible they are.

Great tool for doing some homework!!
I love this app. It's very portable and allows me the opportunity to do some figure drawings on the fly!!
Silver's Movable Feast
... educative, portable, inspirational... I've got both the Female and the Male versions - so, so handy, and the payback in better skills, in terms of improvising layouts and immediate structural awareness as you draw, makes them worth every penny.
Great app for artists
It's a little pricey, but it's packed with a ton of content. The images of the models all provide clear, animated posed that are perfect for cartoonists looked for some character and attitude in their models. The accompanying videos are very helpful and the bonus guest artwork and sketches are nice to have.
My chief complaints lie with the app itself. I've had it lock up multiple times while I navigate image galleries, and the general interface, while simple, is particularly inellegant and boring.
Other than that, the female version of Posebook is a little under stocked as it features fewer models, and (in my opinion) far less inspired subject matter (country girl? huh?), but it does include both male and female hand models and a bunch of close-up facial expressions. And that is awesome.
Overall, this is definitely worth a purchase if you need some inspiration for sketching to get your creative juices flowing. I've been drawing cartoons and comics all my life and this app is a godsend. I look forward to any sort of animals or couples Posebooks you may produce in the future, Mr. Silver! Thank you!
