Incredible Tracking and Natural History App
As an outdoor educator, I have been on a search for great tools to help teach the public about tracking and the natural world. Once I used this app it quickly jumped to the top of the list. This app contains tracks and signs of most of the common mammals that one would encounter in the United States. What is great about this app is that it shows actual pictures of the animal tracks, with descriptions as well. Along with tracks, there are photos for each animal's sign as well- what their scat looks like, feeding signs, etc.
I also appreciate all of the information that is now stored in the app from Wikipedia. It is great to have the information stored in the app for offline viewing, which comes in handy when you want to look up information about the animal but you don't have a wireless signal.
I also want to highlight the search feature which makes it easy to narrow down possible species based on size, toes, shape and your location, to name a few.

Like having a field guide in your iPod Touch
This is a great app. I never carry a track field guide with me in the field and there are often occasions when I wished that I had one. This app gives you the mammal tracks you a likely to want. I like the photos of scat as well...not that I like scat...but the photos are very useful.Wild Ideas

I've been waiting for years for a quality tracking app to be developed. ITrack Wildlife exceeds all expectations. Not only does it have the photos and search features that you would hope for, but it also has a number of features that I never would've thought of but am sure I will use in the field often. Get this App!
This is a GREAT app! Most of the time when I'm in the field I'm carrying one or more field guides, but not always. I do have my iPhone, though, set on vibrate, just in case there's an emergency. Now that iPhone is even more of a "must have" on outings since I have iTrack Wildlife on it. It's very easy to use, and I love the "Similar" feature, which lets you pull up what you think it might be (say Harvest Mice) then hit "Similar" and see Deer/White-footed Mouse, Vole, and Shrew, so I can do a fast comparison. Does it have everything on it that you could possibly want? Not yet (get real; it's not Mark Elbroch's "Mammal Tracks & Sign" -- it's an app for your iPhone), but it's got a lot and I fully anticipate this app is just going to get better and better with updates. This is a great product and I hightly recommend it.
