  • Works well, needs more features!

The app works perfectly, but you need a wired connection. I think a few people missed this.

The app works as intended but is very limited. No manual focus, or real exposure lock. No ability to adjust shutter speed or ISO. Very bare bones.
  • Read the details, only works between iOS devices

This is a handy program that, once installed on an iOS device, allows it to act as a remote camera for another iOS device that’s running the iStopmotion app. Another reviewer seemed to be trying to use this app between a Mac and an iOS device, but the app description says both devices must be iOS.

So you need two iOS device and two apps. The iOS device that’s acting as the camera needs to be running iStopmotion Remote (this app), and the other iOS device that’s acting as the master (has the shutter control, and builds the clip by receiving frames sent by the other device) needs to be running the separate iStopmotion app. Also, the two devices need to be connected to the same network (WiFi network, I believe) to communicate with each other. Read the directions from the software publisher here in the App Store to learn how to connect the two iOS devices.

  • Awful

The iPad app is intuitive and fun to use. This companion camera app is hopeless. You can take about 8 frames before it disconnects from the iPad and then the app needs restarting. This then results in multiple entries for the camera choices on the iPad. Incredibly frustrating.
  • Rubbish

Takes ages to connect to the internet I put the password in and it still not connected
  • App for iPhone?

Not so much a review as a question. Any plans to make I stop motion available as a stand alone app for iPhone se?
  • Can’t get it to work - crashes frequently

It will connect but not for long. Connection drops frequently and that causes the iStopmotion app to crash. As one of the other reviews stated: great idea if it actually worked. I hope the developer can fix it. At least it was free.
  • Very buggy

App is very buggy, there is a delay when ever you snap a shot, image is very pixelated, and overall user interface is unresponsive, doesn't crash but has too many bugs to ever get anything done, id ask for a refund but doesn't seem like the developers have done anything to the app in years so i probably wont get a response.
