Description of MatDoc

The purpose of this application is to aid the user in the identification of skin conditions common to wrestlers. The user - a coach, trainer, nurse, parent, wrestler, referee - will normally be confronted with some type of skin abnormality, perhaps an infection. It is known that most skin conditions present themselves at certain regions of the body. Therefore, the user will be presented a map of the body, from which the user will select the location of the wrestler's skin abnormality. The user will be presented with a gallery of photos associated with that location on the body. Each photo is linked to only one skin condition. One skin condition can link to many photos. The user can select from the gallery a photo that most closely matches the wrestler's condition. The user can then center, zoom in/out, to observe different parts of the photo. From the photo the user has the option to view a description of the condition linked to the photo or go back to the gallery to select a different photo. The use of this app is to assist the user in diagnosing an infectious skin condition. It's usage is at the discretion of the end user and should never replace the relationship you have with or opinion of your physician.

Reviews of MatDoc

  • Great app from an awesome wrestling resource

This app is extremely useful. I have been an AT for years and have a fair amount of wrestling and skin infection experience but even I find myself referencing this app quite a bit. This app is more than worth the cost for so many different populations: Parents, coaches, athletic trainers, primary care physicians etc. The absolute best part is that with the new update, you can send a picture of any skin lesion directly to the Mat Doc and he will diagnose the lesion.
  • Outstanding!

As an ATC for USA Wrestling I have 35 years of Experience from Olympics to kids and I can honestly say this is the best app on the market! There nothing that compares with it! It aids in diagnose, gives treatment options and if all else fails I can send a photo of the skin lesion and The Mat Doc will send a diagnosis. Also has state skin lesion forms...great for when we travel to a tournament in another state. For $5 you can’t go wrong!
  • Athletic trainer

I have over 30 years of wrestling experience and I have referred to this app several times. I find it to be very helpful and I think the app developer is very knowledgeable in this area. Unfortunately I have seen too many skin lesion go misdiagnosed by ATCs, and even physicians.
I think any wrestling coach, parent or inexperienced ATC would find this app to be worth the expense and very helpful with identifying skin infections.
