Proper finding data is important! In this version, we've added the ability to adjust and supplement the data afterwards. This means that as a reporter you can correct your observations if something is wrong with the information. Changes can be made until the observation has received an assessment from the Norwegian Nature Inspectorate (Norway) or the County Administrative Board (Sweden).

Now it is winter and almost 1400 observations are reported per month. Now we have clarified here and there on the reporting pages and beat some bugs away. In this version you can speed up the display of observations by turning off the update of the hit list below the map. If the display is still too slow, try to limit the number of hits further using the Search menu bar at the bottom of the page.

A large and comprehensive update of Skandob's has been completed. The reporting system has got a new design with the same look and functionality on the web and mobile. The website has received responsive design that adapts to all screen sizes. Search functionality is significantly improved, especially in the app, and you will now even be able to search more easily in other people's observations. Topographic maps have been added for Norway and Sweden. You now also have the option to re-register observations in the app, even if you are no longer located at the observation site. It is possible to upload more pictures associated with each observation. All updates have been made to make your Skandobs user experience even better!

Description of Skandobs

In Skandobs, everyone can report their sightings of lynx, wolverine, brown bear and wolf. In this way, the public can contribute to knowledge about the distribution and number of predators in Scandinavia. The County Administrative Boards in Sweden and The Norwegian Nature Inspectorate (SNO) in Norway are responsible for the annual field registrations of the species. In the registration work, reports on predators from the public are important in order to obtain as comprehensive a registration as possible. In order for a report to be included in the result from this year's registration season, it is usually required that the county administrative board or SNO visits the site, verifies the information and possibly adds more information. If an observation registered in Skandobs is particularly important for the monitoring of the species, an automatic notification is immediately sent from Skandobs to SNO or the county administrative boards.
