  • Passé composé erreurs

App uses ´avoir’ to conjugate passé composé where ‘être’ should be used instead eg. Sortir and passer. Shame because otherwise useful with exercises

    Developer Response

Bonjour, Les verbes sortir et passer se conjuguent avec les 2 auxiliaires, être et avoir. Vous pouvez sélectionner l'option "auxiliaire alternatif" pour la conjugaison avec l'auxiliaire avoir. On dit en effet "J'ai sorti la poubelle" et "Tu as passé la frontière", comme "Je suis sorti(e) dehors" et "Tu es passé(é) chez Pierre?". Cordialement, La conjugaison
  • Good app but needs dark/night mode

I like the app. Good for practicing

My only complaint is? It needs dark/night mode. It’s 2024, everyone understands the effect of blue light on sleep. An app like this isn’t part of our jobs (for mist of us)

But otherwise fun to practice my conjugation with

    Toujours accessible et très pratique!

    Excellente application!
  • Simple, complet et pratique

Toujours la bonne conjugaison sous la main et rapidement. Une application à télécharger pour quiconque se soucie de la qualité de la langue française.
  • Very good BUT

    There are errors.
For example everyone knows that sortir is usually conjugated with être but this app doesn’t accept this and conjugated with avoir and marks all the more common conjugations as incorrect.
I’ve noticed this with another main verb descendre.
Since there are so few verbs that take être I think it is a very poor show not to give preference to the normal conjugations and to mark the normal correct conjugations as incorrect.
I think that this would be detrimental to those who are not so advanced in French and confusing to others.
There is another app that accepts both forms as being correct. Why not this one?

    Other bug
If you are hitting the next button the 10th answer doesn’t allow one to view a correction it just blanks out and gives the score out of ten. A bit frustrating!

    Suggested improvements
    - it would be good to be able to hear how a word/phrase is pronounced
-prioritise the usual conjugation with être in verbs such as sortir, and descendre and any others as well - I haven’t checked the others.
Ultimate would be to accept both forms as does another competitors app
    - ability to tap on the verb and discover the meaning of the word.
-on the 10th answer change the app so that the first press gives the answer and a second press concludes

Hello, Thank you for your comment and your suggestions for improvement. For each verb that can be conjugated with the 2 auxiliaries, our application proposes the 2 forms. To access the alternative form, you have to go to "other forms" on the top right, then to "alternative auxiliary" and OK. We have decided to display by default the auxiliary "avoir" for verbs that are both transitive and intransitive. Concerning the Exercises section, you are absolutely right, we will correct the bug for the 10th question in the next update. Thank you also for your excellent suggestions (pronunciation, definition etc.) to improve our service. Sincerely, La-conjugaison
