Constantly replays the same section of a book. It jumps back several pages and gets stuck in a loop. I heard the same several pages 4 times yesterday. I was driving and couldn’t micromanage it. It looses track of your place in the book. The only way I can fin where the play head actually is is by locking my phone and from the lock screen I can see how far into the book the play head is or you can scroll through the entire book to find it. Then I have to go back into the app and scroll to there and find the playhead. There is no way that I know to find where the playhead is. So I have to do this weird
    workaround.
I wish I could listen to a book from start to finish without it randomly skipping back several pages and replaying the same things over and over . I’m listening to a book while writing this review and it is skipping back several pages.
When it works it’s a 5 star app for sure

  • Expected so much more for the price

For this amount of money, I just thought that the basics of this app would be well refined, unfortunately this is not the case. Navigating the text is extremely clunky... it takes an excessive amount of time to select text to either highlight or copy due to the clunkiness of the cursor. The cursor often won’t move at all no matter how much you attempt to move it and will almost always freeze before you’ve finished dragging it the the place you want. I’ve also already had to delete one of my books and reload it, find where I was up to from scratch due the app freezing every time I open it. PDF support is clearly not very well optimised. These are just the basics of how an app reading any sort of document should manage to function, this isn’t even touching on the text to speech aspect of the app. Extremely poor for this amount of money.

  • Love this App still

Voice Dream reader is a wonderful, easy to use text to speech App. I use it everyday to read multiple types of websites and documents. I read blogs, news sites, fan fiction all very easily up loaded to Dream Voice in a single click. I have been using the App for a several months with great success. When I first started using it I had a question for the developers, they answered it promptly and thoroughly. I think I've tried every App on the market but I won't be trialling any more. Thank you Dream Voice.

  • Worth Every Penny And More

On iOS this app works amazing. In fact I got an iOS device just for this and voice dream writer. The connection to Pocket and Google Drive enable me to read blogs, articles, ebooks and reports in half the time AND take notes in Google Keep. I am wildly dyslexic and over the few years I have been using these apps I have significantly increased my written output, accuracy and level of reading. This has had a positive impact on both my income and, even better my self confidence and creativity. Thanks Winston :-)

  • Couldn’t work without it.

Voice dream is godsend for any writer, in fact it’s a must have for anyone who puts words on paper. No matter how many times something is edited it’s easy to miss the odd word, especially words like ‘and’ and ‘the’ because our eyes skates over them. Voice Dream catches all of them.

Things like modulation and rhythm are much easier to pick up on as well. The voices used are very natural. I use Heather, and apart from the odd rare word, the pronunciation is perfect. It’s so realistic and easy to listen to, the app is ideal for creating your own audio books. You can even edit within the app, add notes and highlights as you go along. I can’t recommend it highly enough.

  • WOW

It’s not often I’m this impressed with an app. I have felt very let down lately by a number of developers. First this app works, it does what it says on the tin and it does it extremely well! Second, it’s not a subscription plan and so far I’ve not seen any hidden purchases. Third it is value for money and seems to be priced fairly. I’ve tested it to the extreme. I took a previously scanned 190 page document and imported it. The app asked if o wanted to run OCR, so I did. Within a minute or so I had exported the text to my written app of choice. The spoken text is the best I’ve heard to date (There are a choice of voices so have a play until you find one that suits). There were no mistakes. I’ve tried other text sources with strange fonts etc... same results. There are features I would like to see, such as a better file manager etc... it allows for folders but via a drop down, this is perfectly adequate though. I bought the suit with the writer and the scanner etc... it’s so good I’d claim the use of wizardry!!!!! I’ll be recommending this app to my University, work colleagues and whenever I get the chance. I would be extremely happy to see a Mac OSX version .

  • Groundbreaking app for active reading

Voice Dream Reader reader supports sight reading of text to suit your print preference by allowing you to fully customise how the text is displayed in text view. If you require a large font you can easily increase the font size and it reflows into a single column -greatly improving readability by removing the need to pan to bring the text into view. You also have control over font, text colour, page colour in fact all colours including highlight text. Voice Dream Reader lets you control the reading simply clicking where you want it to start reading, with controls to skip forward and back by reading unit which you can set as sentence, page, etc. In addition to comfortable sight reading and reactive text-to-speech, Voice Dream Reader also lets you take notes directly into the text when reading, thus supporting active reading. The notes appear in text view and original view. You can happily the add notes as you go along, and then when ready, extract all your notes, with the associated highlighted text, and send these to Word or another app of your choice. This therefore is a powerful tool for students and researchers. The Voice Dreamer Reader team are also responsive to email and from my experience I have found them to be fully committed to delivering a groundbreaking inclusive reading tool.

  • Life-changingly fantastic

I absolutely love this app! It is far and away the best reader on the market. I work full-time, commute many hours, take care of my kids in a household, and started a second masters degree program last year. Voice Dream Reader makes graduate school possible for me. I am reading my homework while driving, walking, washing the dishes, cooking dinner, folding my laundry, brushing my teeth.... I can adjust the pronunciation for specific words or acronyms, I can adjust the reading speed And choose from voices, I can tap a small button and mark the paragraph, or highlight certain portions of text. I couldn’t do my program without this app.

So many features, and the developers are impressive at their support and their constant improvements. I’ve had a couple issues, and sent an email. Not only have I received a personal response each time, from an real person who cares about the problem, but every time the problem actually got fixed or the question satisfactorily answered. Every time.

I am very, very grateful for voice dream reader!

  • MIRACLE APP!!

Thank you to the creators of this miracle app!! I usually never write reviews but I was soo happy to find an app that can help me so much! I’m in nursing school and I have ALOT of reading to do in such a short span. I wasn’t sure how I was going to read all of those chapters, plus do my homework and go to work all at the same time. I was starting to fall behind of my readings but thanks to this app, I was able to catch up on 5 out of 9 chapters in about a day, all while managing to keep everything else in my life on track. Not only did I not have to physically read the book myself cause the app is reading for me, but I actually retain a lot more information through this. I would usually take half a day just to read one chapter due to boredom, tiredness or just busy with other stuff, so I am very excited to use this while I’m in school. Thank you so much!

  • Fabulous app.

    So o give 5*.
For those of us with less than great eyes for reading... indispensable.
Anyway one small bug I noticed is to do with synching between phone and Apple Watch (latest one whatever that is). If you listen on the watch is syncs that position automatically in the iPhone.... BUT if I listen in the iPhone it does not sync that position when you next launch the watch app. So you keep being thrown back to the last Watch location.
    A fix would be great!!
