1) Prayer Prompter’s Dropbox Backup and Restore feature has been updated to use the new Dropbox API version 2. As a result, you will probably need to login to your Dropbox account the first time you use Backup and Restore. Dropbox says “The Dropbox API v2 helps your app better integrate with Dropbox. We will be turning off API v1 on 6/28/2017.” 2) Prayer Prompter is dropping support for iOS 8. While we would like to maintain backward compatibility for earlier versions such as iOS 8, the work involved in doing so is more that we are currently able to handle. This means if you have an Apple device that is not running at least iOS 9 or iOS 10, you will not be able to update it to this latest version of Prayer Prompter and the Dropbox Backup and Restore feature will stop working on that device after 6/28/2017. If you decide to get a newer device after June 28, 2017 that is capable of running iOS 9 or later and do not have a current Dropbox backup of your Prayer Prompter content, you can still restore everything from your old device by using iTunes "Manual Backup and Restore" feature. (In other words, you must backup your old device manually in iTunes so that you can restore it manually to your new device.) Then update Prayer Prompter to the latest App Store version to get Dropbox Backup and Restore capability. If you have any doubts about doing this yourself, take your old and new device to the Apple Store and they will do this for free. ------------------- Written reviews and the star rating help potential new users decide whether to get an app or not, so if you like Prayer Prompter and want to help others find it, the best way to do that is to write a review describing why you like Prayer Prompter and select a number of stars from 1 to 5. If you have written a review in the past, please update it or just repost it for this new version. Thanks!

If you like Prayer Prompter, please review this new version or update your earlier review! The more good reviews that are posted, the more likely searchers will find Prayer Prompter in the App Store and be persuaded to try it out. Note: You can "rate" Prayer Prompter without writing a review but, if you do write a review, be sure to explain why you like Prayer Prompter. What’s New in This Version? • Revised "Soft" mode color settings. We have been trying to find the best combination of text and background color that is "softer" than the "Day" settings of black and white and pleasing to the eye while maintaining as high a contrast ratio as possible for optimum reading comfort. We think the new "Soft" mode meets these goals and hope you will like it. • Replaced existing dashboard help and global settings icons with split blue/green icons to correspond with the Prayer Prompter convention that colored icons and text do something when tapped. • Replaced the info icon with a slightly larger one for better recognition. • Added an image to Notifications in Global Settings to make it easier to find. • Added a warning message for iOS 8 users that they need to upgrade to iOS 10 to be able to receive the next Prayer Prompter update which includes a revision to the Dropbox Backup and Restore programming code. (See "Details" below for more information.) Details: Dropbox is ending support for their Application Programing Interface (API) version 1 on June 28, 2017 and Prayer Prompter will begin using API version 2 in the next update. Prayer Prompter users must be running iOS 9 or iOS 10 in order to get the next update and be able to continue using Dropbox Backup and Restore. As of June 28, iPhones and iPad that are still running iOS 8 will not be able to use Dropbox Backup and Restore. Previous backups will still be available in their Dropbox account and these files can be used for restoring if and when they update to a later version.

• A “Simplified Dashboard” for new users. (Existing users can enable the Simplified Dashboard in Global Settings.) • The All Entries lists (upper and lower) are now organized in true alphabetical order so you can find entries more easily. New entries will automatically be placed where they belong in the alphabetic sequence. • Individual Entry Lists can still be sorted manually as before but now they can be automatically sorted into alphabetical order by tapping the sort icon (three horizontal bars) for that list and then tapping “Sort Alphabetically” which will appear at the bottom of the list screen. If you add new entries, they will appear at the top of the list. You can “Sort Alphabetically” again in order to place them where they belong in the alphabetic sequence. • Added new notification options for the Prayer Prompter app icon. Previously, the only thing it did was display a red “badge” with the number of days since Prayer Prompter was last opened but now it can display the number of entries that you “prayed” today or the total time you spent viewing entries or the total time you had Prayer Prompter open. Why would this be helpful? The number can inform you of how much you did today. “I’m done for today!” or “I need to return and continue.” • Added support for iOS 9 including “native support for all device sizes at full resolution.” What this means is that the dashboard, entry screens and all the other screens are rendered correctly in both landscape and portrait orientation no matter what size iPhone or iPad you are using. • Added a retractable dashboard for the iPad in landscape orientation. The width of the entry text stays the same whether the keyboard is visible or not. • Bug fixes. (If you find a problem, we want to know about it! Please email support@prayerprompter.com and give us the details.) ► Please write a review or update your review for this new version! Why is this important? The more good reviews for this version that are posted, the more likely searchers will find Prayer Prompter in the App Store. If you write a review or update your review, please tell why you like Prayer Prompter because that will help Christians searching for a prayer app try it out. Note: If you have a problem of any kind, please contact us at support@prayerprompter.com. We want to figure out and fix whatever may be causing your problem as quickly as possible.

If you like Prayer Prompter, please recommend it to others by writing a review for version 2.3 even if it is a brief one. If you have written a review in the past, please update it. Why is this important? • When a new version of an app is released, the reviews for the previous version are moved to "All Versions" and a message states that "We have not received enough ratings to display an average for this app." Ouch! That hurts a lot and continues to hurt until a total of six reviews and/or star ratings are received for the new version. • The more good reviews for the new version that are posted, the more likely searchers will find Prayer Prompter in the App Store and decide to try it out. • Tap https://itunes.apple.com/us/app/prayer-prompter/id499057936 to leave a review.

Price History of Christian Prayer Prompter

Description of Christian Prayer Prompter

A God-centered, worship-based prayer app that stores and organizes Scripture passages and prayer requests by category and displays them in rotation according to the priority you assign to each one. Prayer is difficult in so many ways! It can be hard to find the time, hard to know what to pray about, hard to keep focused, hard to keep from using the same words over and over and hard to keep it from becoming a "To Do" list for God. Prayer Prompter was designed to help you to be faithful in prayer while keeping the focus on God and His Word, rather than yourself. Prayer Prompter is like a two drawer file cabinet. • The top drawer is named "Meditation and Prayer." It stores and organizes Scripture passages by topic and displays as many of them as you want in rotation and according to the priority you assign to each one. Prayer Prompter encourages Scripture-based prayer by providing an easy way to read and reflect on key passages of Scripture and return to them on a regular basis. Reading and thinking about (i.e. meditating upon) passages of Scripture increases knowledge, understanding and wisdom and may inspire a prayer from the heart to God. It might be as simple as an "Amen." (The model prayer that Jesus gave his disciples saying "Pray this way", is remarkably short!) The first few folders in the top drawer are organized according to the popular “ACTS” method of prayer. The letters stand for Adoration meaning worship and praise, Confession which should include contrition for sin, Thanksgiving, the expression of gratitude to God, and Supplication, making known your requests. These four topics offer a balanced approach to communicating with God in prayer. • The bottom drawer is named "Petition/Intercession." It stores and organizes prayer requests and answers to prayer by category, and displays as many of them as you want in rotation and according to the priority you assign to each one. Some sources of inspiration that influenced the design of Prayer Prompter: I will meditate on Your precepts, And contemplate Your ways. I will delight myself in Your statutes; I will not forget Your word. (Psalm 119:15-16) Not unto us, O Lord, not unto us, But to Your name give glory, Because of Your mercy, Because of Your truth. (Psalm 115:1) "Praise and worship is the expression of admiration and devotion to God. Only praise puts God in His rightful position at the outset of our praying. In praising God, we declare His sovereignty and recognize His nature and power." Dick Eastman "Godly prayer is fundamentally an act of worship. It is an expression of our praise, our unworthiness, our desire to see God's will fulfilled, and our utter dependence on Him for all our needs." John MacArthur "Worship-based prayer seeks the face of God before the hand of God. God's face is the essence of who He is. God's hand is the blessing of what he does. God's face represents His person and presence. God's hand expresses His provision for needs in our lives. I have learned that if all we ever do is seek God's hand, we may miss His face: but if we seek His face, He will be glad to open His hand and satisfy the deepest desires of our hearts." Daniel Henderson Prayer Prompter includes more than 600 Scripture passages from the New American Standard Bible (NASB) used by permission of The Lockman Foundation. "Originally produced in 1971 and updated in 1995, the NASB is widely embraced and trusted as a literal English translation. The NASB provides superior accuracy with clarity and readability to inspire greater understanding. It has been produced with the conviction that the words of Scripture, as originally penned in the Hebrew, Aramaic, and Greek, were inspired by God." The Lockman Foundation Note: If you prefer a different version of the Bible, the NASB passages can be replaced by copying and pasting. http://prayerprompter.com/replacing-bible-passages.

Reviews of Christian Prayer Prompter

  • GETTING DOWN TO BRASS TACKS

I have tried many different prayer apps and found all of them wanting except this one! It doesn’t have pretty colors, or multiple text styles, or music, or lovely background pictures that some do. It doesn’t come with ‘built in’ devotions, or daily ‘encouraging’ words.

It is easily amendable, easily navigated, and loaded with great reminders from GOD’S WORD, which is where genuine prayer resides! The User can decide on how to pursue devoted prayer and is given options for adding, changing and modifying text, prayers and bible versions.

For me, it’s a FIVE STAR app, with one small exception…at times, it is not clear how to make certain changes happen and take effect, but once learned it is everything a devotee of prayer could want. It truly puts the User “in the driver’s seat” and eliminates the temptation to let the app dictate your prayer time.
  • GOTTEN TO LOVE IT

I had a bit of a learning curve to figure out how to make it useful. I really love it now that I figured out how to add to it and generally make it do what I want.
  • Excellent way to organize prayer needs!

I’ve been using this app for at least 7 years, maybe 10. It is a great way to organize all of the categories of prayers that a person might want to cover. I love that it starts with the ACTS prayers, and pairs scripture with them. You can customize additional catories in any way that you like. I have categories for myself, family, bible study members’ requests, home group members requests, our country, etc.

You can set up the timing interval for seeing each request to be anything from every day to a much lower frequency. Prayers which have been answered can be moved to an “Answered Prayers” or “Praise” category.

The flexibility of this app is excellent, while also providing a foundational structure to begin with.
