  • Nice idea, poor execution

Doesn't work. Just tested it from Los Angeles to Naples Italy, with spikes in the Azores as well and along the east US. The trip function did not "connect the dots" of my spikes and the total trip was 1 mile long with no other stats loading or adding up. Some places recorded no position despite the statement that is works "without data" (did occasionally).

Some other functionality issues. Nice idea if it can be done right. Thanks for trying.

  • Good

    Please fix it
  • Loving it

Easy to use and very efficient. Would live twitter syndication.
  • Full of bugs!

Got bored of the 'no spike with that number' error and being unable to leave comments due to errors.
Poorly written software, not even worth the free price tag.
  • Just what I was after for travel blogging

Easily allows you to spike a location with a new photo or photo taken from your existing photo library.

Just what I was after a way of blogging my trip with photos added. Love the ability to add more than one photo to a spike, and that it interfaces with Facebook so my non geo spike friends can see what I'm up to.

Would recommend and for a free app I don't think any of the negative reviewers should grumble!

  • Great app

I have used this app all over the world. Great pictures.
  • Nice little sharing app

It does exactly what it says on the tin: shares location and photos. Used it to easily share with people during a cycling trip. Shared publicly and also to my Facebook account. Worked fine without Internet access and uploaded the spikes when back online.

My only quibble is that I'm still not sure what the relationship between this and GPS Log is: they both perform very similar functions and seem to have an official link. I tried GPS Log first, so setting myself up on Geospike seemed a bit convoluted as 2 apps were involved. I suspect I went the long way around, so a clearer interface or guidelines on this would be helpful.

  • Good App

I think this could be quite fun between friends.
  • Too complex to add a spike

First you have to create an account (or use a guest one) - good luck if you have no network when trying to create your first spike.

Then it opens the camera. Uh, no, I just want to record the location, I'm not making a documentary.

Then you have a description page. Map should be at the top, not the photo, but hey ho, that's a minor UX issue.

Then you have to save the point - again needing network, I think - which defaults to a public feed.

Creating a private spike takes more taps than a full season run of Chicago*. Nonsense.

One extra star for not forcing a Facebook account though.

    * not wholly accurate.
