  • Could not initialise

Sits on the updating firmware information for ages and then forces terminate. My network connection is working fine. Tested 4G and wifi
  • Did they try it?

Installed the app and logged in. Did what was asked of me to download firmware. No joy. Seems that it was not tested. The firmware was clearly in the file sync area.
  • Broken

Can't add devices as the app is full of bugs.
  • Great app, has a lot of potential

I cannot wait for the full version later this year. So far, the app is very stable, lacks features as you would expect of a lite and beta version. A few features I wish developers can add:

    1. Under devices, ability to click on the icon of the fortigate and login to it automatically as long as you're on the same network as the fortigate (which means app should save login credentials).
    2. When adding a new fortigate to the app, have the option for the app to autoscan for fortigates on the network. Then all you have to do is input the credentials.
    3. Have the option on the app when opening it, to configure it to ask you for a passcode or Touch ID. This is good as an extra security.
    4. Have the option to back up config file to other apps installed on your device such as google drive, iCloud Drive, one drive, Dropbox, etc...
    5. Have a reboot and shutdown button. User should also be prompted to save config file in the process.
    6. When restoring phone or iPad from backup, or transferring to another device, the settings of this app should not be lost. You should still see all your devices in the list with saved credentials.

Job well done to the developers of this app.

  • Great concept but...

The current version does not support the newest models like FG-60E running FortiOS 5.4.1

It says I need to update the database but that does not solve the error.

I love the ability to connect wirelessly and one day configure and save configurations.
  • Appears Abandoned

It's a great idea to be able to physically connect an iOS device and manage a Fortinet firewall with it. However, since the app does not appear to work with an iOS 9 device, it suggest the app was abandoned at the end of 2014. I would love to see it revived, and would gladly pay for a fully functional/maintained version. If revived, it should--I think--at least cover the following:
    - All functionality/configuration should be available via an ipad/ipadPro device
    - For security reasons, the app should support the latest iOS release and 1 version back only. iOS devices have one of the highest cyberattack resistance (integrity of the device), but that quickly fades with each new iOS release.
    - Follow all the iOS development security best practices.

Would love to see (and Pay!) it.

  • Nice application

    Easy to use
  • Easy to manage FAP

    Simple to manage FortiAP
  • What a nice app

    So easy to manage fgt
  • A very nice start

Fortinet has a very long history of being an innovator, this App servers to continue that tradition.

It has issues, but as a starting point it is a very strong start for easing the time and effort for deployment and management of Fortinet solutions.

I am very excited about this App and have very high hopes for future releases.
