A classic app

But please, I have tried everything to share my figure files and I cannot back them up to any other device

I love this app… wish there was more support 😭

I’ve been using this app for 2 years and have made hundreds of little beats. It’s extremely intuitive and fun and makes it easy to create unique and interesting loops. The depth is astounding. I would use it forever if I could.

Sadly, it seems that support for the app is dwindling. There hasn’t been an update in 3 years, and I’m experiencing more and more glitches as time goes on. Sometimes when I use the delay effect, it creates a horrible distorted sound instead of the pleasant actual delay effect. I just experienced a new one where the track I opened was playing at warp speed resulting in a jumbled mess.

It’s sad to see because I think this app could really be pushed further and be something even more special. I’d happily pay a higher price tag for it too.

Still, 5 stars 🙂

Loved this app before, but it doesn’t work now

Sep 12, 2024: omg the app works again! It doesn’t remember my original account though.. when I ask for a password change it just sends a bunch of coding.

Dec 27, 2023: It’s been years and this app is still in the App Store. It hasn’t worked in years! Makes me so sad. Just a black screen. How are there positive comments on this when it doesn’t work?? Review from 2021: I had so many loops I loved. I loved to play with this app. Unfortunately it’s been years since I’ve been able to access any of them, or even the app. When I enter my email and password I get a black screen that doesn’t go away. It’s a shame.

Best for beginners

Very good app, prolly mostly for beginners, because the way that it’s built makes it VERY easy. No ads or purchases, one of my favourite apps.

Amazing Sound

So much beat, just love it. My first song Decaying

UPDATE new in 2024

It’s still a great inspirational app that I use to make all kinds of loops and then export them for use in other apps like Elliot Garage Nodes! What a great combination!

Glad to see Figure back. Logged in with Propellerheads account that I’ve had for years. No big deal. Certainly not worth having a stroke over! I always get great stuff out of Figure! As far as I'm concerned this comes very close to blowing iKaossilator out of the water. If it had a save and audio export function it would. Add those two things and the ability to update the sound palette and you've done it.

Response from developer

Thank you, happy to hear! We are working on updates for the app, maybe you will get what you look for :D /Hanna

Inspirational but long in the tooth

EDIT(2021): You updated it? YOU UPDATED IT! Not sure what changed but… YOU UPDATED IT! (Thank you to the one in the quiet corner of Reason Studios that pushed out this unassuming update). Great tool! I’ve been using this for years but I am worried this app will languish under Reason Studios ownership. Here’s some suggestions: Firstly, we need a way to manage our Figure files so we can back them up on our desktop machine or transfer them to another iOS device. I have a ton of Figures on my old iPad that I want to move to my newer iPhone but cannot. I think we need a less confusing Global tab tonality section. Getting F Lydian is not clear: I select key of C and then select “F major” to the right. Maybe it makes sense for someone with a lot of theoretical knowledge *shrugs* Currently, you can trim the length of a loop to the left. For example, you a 8 bar loop and you change the length to 4, it keeps the first 4 bars of the loop. What if I want the last half? How about the middle 2? Independent arpeggiators for bass and lead would be great. Export to a Reason 11 project with 2 Thors and a Kong, appropriate patches with MIDI performance. Make new patches in the Thor app and bring them into Figure. iOS music making has been making steady strides, I would hate to see Figure be left behind.

Best app ever. Please update!!!

This is, hands down, the greatest app ever created. I know is as well as I know my guitar and drums. I’ve spent a lot of hours playing it.

A few things I’ll beg for.
I’ll buy the update, just please extend some function of this incredible instrument.

Please let me plug a midi keyboard controller in. Pretty please? 🙏🙏🙏

Please make a pitch type fader and tempo/bpm bump up/down available. accessible from all menus would be nice. A way to beat matching less awkward would take this app places where nothing else can go.

Please let us export midi and multitrack audio renders.

Please let us plug the file into reason and let us edit.

Support for live multitrack via audio interface would be sick.

Being able to use the interface as alive midi controller would be awesome.

Thank you again for my favourite app ever.

Just excellent

Been using Figure on and off since it came out and it never disappoints. One of the most intuitive, simple, and fun ways to make beats on iOS. Sure there are a lot of things they could add or change, but I’m happy it’s still the same instantly enjoyable mobile music making apps after all these years. Thank you so much to everyone at Propellerhead. Reason got me hooked on electronic production as a teenager and well into my thirties. You folks rule.
