EVERYTHING is new in this version! Yes, 'Web Subscriber' is the app formerly known as 'Slow Feeds'. Slow Feeds are still there (with an adjustable threshold even) - and so are Hot Links and Images, all part of the 'Discover' section. Instead of High Volume feeds, you now get 'All Articles' and - completely new - you get to tag and browse your feeds manually as you like as well. That's a lot! But is it too much? Don't worry: Instead of 'Zen Mode' you can now completely customize the sections you want to use if you want to reduce noise. You can even use single tags as top-level navigation section. Other new goodies: - More list view options, everywhere (read/unread, with/without excerpt, reverse sorting) - Use Web Subscriber without 3rd party feed reader service

Nicer display of tweet-like posts, microblogging, snippets, blips – or however you like to call the phenomenon of posts without titles. To make these posts look good but consistent with titled posts, quite a few design changes were necessary – in article headers as well as most of the list views. If you don't know what I'm talking about, subscribe to feeds from Manton Reece and Dave Winer :-) Also: Fixes some problems with the subscribe extension

Description of Web Subscriber

You don't have to check your favorite websites one by one! Web Subscriber is a web-feed reader that lets you subscribe to many websites and blogs in one place. Web Subscriber shows you all articles of websites you subscribe to as a unified reading list. You can also organize your subscriptions by tagging them. If you start having lots of subscriptions, Web Subscriber helps you by providing smart and interesting streams of articles: - 'Slow Feeds' singles out your low-volume subscriptions, so they don't drown in the noise of high-frequency news sites. - 'Hot Links' shows you what gets linked to from multiple articles to help you find what's important. - 'Images' lets you leisurely browse your reading list like a photo album of article images. See if something piques your interest! - 'Micro-Blogposts' Tweet-like untitled posts with max. 280 characters. Web Subscriber supports any website or blog offering a web-feed in the RSS, Atom or JSONFeed format.

  • Wish it had a dark color scheme option

I tried the developer's other RSS app (Slow Feeds) but it wasn't the same. I think the interface is excellent.
  • Seems app is dropped

    Simple doesn’t work
  • Good alternative of Reeder 3

The latest version improves sync speed a lot, and Slow feeds is a bery helpful feature for ppl subscribed large number of feeds.

    Developer Response

Could you check if it's getting better after updating to 5.1.1? I released a fix for a sync problem. If it doesn't improve after one more slow sync, an email to stefan@zoziapps.ch would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!
