  • disable SessionM and it's great

Really fun, addictive, fast paced game. I like the way the controls work- more precise than other games of this type. Also like how you can see the next ball color in the aiming reticle. Graphics are awesome and powerups are fun. Just disable SessionM as described elsewhere in these reviews and it's great. Minus one-star for this irritating "feature" that just gets in the way of an awesome game.
  • Hmm

I like Sparkle a lot, so this game was recommended. Bought it on sale, which I think is a more accurate price at $1. Problem is the game lags and has these stupid popup menus that get in the way and cause it to lag even more. It would also be nice to set a sensitivity for the shooter movement - sometime you run out of room in the screen to get where you want, and all you can do is shoot a marble in the wrong spot. It's good, just needs some tweaks and bug fixes.
  • Addictive

When I first tried the game I wasn't impressed, but it didn't take long for it to change my mind. I like that the balls are not only different colors, but that they also have symbols to match so you don't have to rely on color alone.
  • Great spin on this type of game

I was initially hesitant to buy this because I have bought earlier Luxor, Puzzloop and Zuma games, and I felt like there was little they could offer new to make it worth yet another purchase. This game is great though and brings new challenges and great graphics to the table. Gives me a very retro arcade feeling I don't get from too many other games. Well worth the purchase!
  • New life for a stale franchise

I was. A big fan of the original Luxor but found mumbojumbos many retoolings of the game boring and steal. This new version is much different, with boss fights, bullet time, and a retro style that actually is retro (I remember the eighties). The soundtrack is great as well. It not the longest game in the world but truly synesthetic. Highly recommend - a genuine treat
  • If Luxor=like, get it NOW

I've played every variant of Luxor available on both PC and IOS, and this is THE most addictive version ever. The techno-trance in the background, the classic arcade backgrounds in many boards (bezerk, pac-man, etc.)...it all rocks, and unless you hate matching games, this rocks.
  • Okay

I have to confess, off the bat, that I'm not a fan of Mumbo Jumbo. Maybe it's holding an old grudge, but I still have memories of what they did to Stone Loops, an excellent game of this genre some years ago. However, I gave this version of Luxor a look because of the original graphics. It's not bad, but only on the iPad. The balls are way too small on the iPhone, and you can't see what your doing with your finger covering everything. Still... It's Luxor, just with cool graphics.
I still prefer Zuma's Revenge, which was finally brought to iOS not long ago, after years of playing it on my PC.
  • Cant get past the initial loading screen bc the game crashes on 4 software

If you are running on system software below 5 I advise caution until they patch the game. On an iPhone4, iPad 1, iPad 2 the game force quits immediately after the mumbo jumbo logo is loaded. However the game does work ok on an iPhone 4s running 5+software! Great mix of geometry wars style vector graphics mixed w the same great match 3 gameplay we've come to expect from the Luxor series. I'll change to 5 stars if updated!
    Game crashes on iPad 1(4.2.1)
    Game crashes on iPad 2(4.3.2)
Game crashes on iPhone 4 (4.2.1)
Game runs fine on iPhone 4s (5.0.1)
  • Controls are make this game frustrating

There seriously needs to be an option to move with one finger and shoot by tapping with a second. That way you never have to pull your finger controlling the ship off the screen. The current "shoot" control options are cumbersome break the flow of the game. Right now you can change the color of the ball with the second finger touching the screen. It would be better to either make that option allow you to shoot or add a dedicated "shoot" button to the screen somewhere. Fix the controls and I'd give the game five stars. The controls otherwise cripple what could be a great game.
  • Great game-one thing though.

I love this game! It's definitely different from all the other Luxor games. There are many levels that are the same as levels in previous Luxor titles, but their paths are reversed. I especially love all the power ups and secret levels. The only thing I wish for is for there to be some extra game modes besides the adventure, such as free play or endless or anything else that comes to mind. That would be good for a future update. It would be great to select any level you want and play it. Otherwise, this game is very cool and I hope that Mumbojumbo keeps releasing more LUXOR games for iPad like Luxor 3, QFTA, and 5th passage. Keep them coming! You're doing great!
