Version History of Triggertrap Mobile

4.1.9

October 10, 2019

Updated for iOS 13, and Dark Mode. It's old news to us, but it seems that the rest of the world has caught-on - using a bright display in dim light hurts your eyes! We knew that years ago, and we also realized that the backlight of your iPhone can sometimes give off unnecessary light affecting the photo you're trying to take. Because of this, we introduced Night Mode - a setting to change the colors and theme of the app. With the introduction of Dark Mode in iOS 13, we've updated our Night Mode to work with the system settings. Now, if you have Dark Mode enabled Triggertrap Mobile will automatically adapt to choose the correct theme. Enjoy ~ Alex & Ross.

May 23, 2018

We have taken steps to make Triggertrap Mobile compliant with the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), and we've made a few minor adjustments along the way. We no longer track any of your data inside of the app, nothing at all - and to ensure we're fully compliant to the rules; all of our previous third-party services or accounts have been deleted. This means that we've deleted all of the historical data that we'd previously gathered too. As well as preparing for GDPR, we've fixed the broken feedback and support page, removed all references to the Triggertrap shop, and updated the Cable Selector to find Mobile Kits on eBay. We've also made a few improvements for iPhone X users, and we'll aim to make the app silky-smooth for the iPhone X in the next update. Enjoy ~ Alex & Ross.

4.1

December 14, 2015

All new, all shiny, still red - Triggertrap Mobile 4.0. We’ve completely rewritten the core of our app to improve speed, efficiency, and accuracy. We find those things pretty exciting, but we’ve also been beavering away on new features, including the single most requested feature: night mode. To turn Triggertrap Mobile into the perfect companion for photography in the dark, a simple switch lives in the settings section of the app. The colors have been chosen to be subtle yet clear in darkness, and not dazzle you when you use the app, making it ideal for high speed photography in studios, light painting in the garden, and for astrophotography in the field. These colors are designed to work with the screen brightness turned right down, minimizing light coming out the phone, and maximizing battery life. But we’ve not just painted it black. Wearables mode has been taken to the next level, with support for every mode except Press and Hold and Quick Release. This makes it perfect for starting sensor modes from a distance so you don’t accidentally trigger them yourself, keeping your long exposure HDRs sharp and your star trails steady. Also, a little something for ND Filter lovers - Timed Release now has our ND Calculator baked right in. In Timed Release simply tap the ND filter icon (the split circle), enter your base shutter speed, your neutral density filter strength and tap to automatically put that value into Timed Release. No more forgotten shutter speeds and fewer taps and swipes. Easy! To make sure Timed Release and ND Calculator work reliably together, we have limited the fastest shutter speed to 1/6th second. For anything faster we recommend setting the shutter speed on your camera and using Triggertrap as a cable release. Another little tweak to tell you about is for our iOS 9 users, who can now use Spotlight to open features inside the app. Swipe left (or down) on the home screen, type the mode you’re after, and you can be teleported straight in! As ever, our bug-crush shoes have also been out in force, stamping out bugs far too numerous (and boring) to mention here. Any feedback or suggestions? We love to hear what you think, please send us an email to hello@tri.gg to let us know!

  • Works with iPhone 13 Pro

Just use the lightning to headphone adapter. The triggertrap with the attached cable plugs into it.

I had it backwards using the small cable extension to headphone cable.

I just wish this app was updated so we can use the iPhone camera so we can use external flash. I’d love to set the iso, shutter, aperture on the iPhone app and connect it with an external flash. Maybe use the slow motion video to determine the sync delay so when the app fires, it captures the flash!

I’m sure more triggers would sell if that was possible!!!

  • Doesn’t work with iOS 14

Please update the app. It doesn’t do anything with my iPhone X using iOS 14.
  • I’m back on board...

Noticed the update and going to pull the dongle out the cupboard!
