Nice piece of work, app works very good, however the compass realise on cell sites and this can be very inaccurate depending on the number of cell sites around, plus the operator you’re using.old school communications.
Hmmmm not convinced yet
So i lined my own sat dish up by the tv and sat align function in options. Way ive always done it in the past its a patience thing and small movements to get the signal right. Anyway i was working on repairs in my trailer and decided to set up the dish and tripod to watch tv while i repaired. And i lined the bugger up worked like a charm. Got the idea that hmm maybe there is a app to make this easier when we go places.
It was already lined up so i turned on the app and see if it showed the same and it did so i thought sweet. Took a trip in a few days a overnighter and wanted to set up the dish and ya know what incouldnt get it to come close to finding a signal. Infinally gave up and watched a movie instead.
Next morning after hubby left tried it again with dish align . No dice, went back to the old standby and got it aligned and did it again my way when i got home
Again. So i dont know folks if these things work or not seemed simple enough app and straight forward but when it showed in green and aligned i had no signal.Show lessRoperlaine
Clunky
The user interface is clunky and the app doesn’t read the compass correctly (the iPhone compass has to be set for magnetic north or the app compass will point in the wrong direction). Another user complained about this a year ago and it still hasn’t been fixed, so draw your own conclusions about app support.

Scaffolding sorted!
Scaffolding blocking signal, so had to take the dish off the wall, mount on a plank and find the satellite. Used Dish Align to find sky satellite then clicked on compass, placed phone on the arm of the dish and moved around until I had green for good signal. Sorted!!Mallet7
Works great!
My dish was not in alignment, I’m assuming from some bad weather here. I downloaded this app it shows you where to point it. I’m in a small town so it showed me on the map right where the dish should point too. So easy!NKtotheB
Works a dream
I use this when touring with my Caravan. I hold my iPad onto the top edge of the dish which I swivel until the arrow turns green and my wife shouts "that's it!" SeemplesAndy5842084
