Description of Wild Essex

An app for anyone who wants to learn more about British wildlife, particularly but not only in Essex. Contains descriptions and photos of close to 800 of the birds, animals and plants you are most likely to notice in the countryside, helping you to identify them and discover more about their lifestyle and behaviour.  The content relates specifically to Essex, but most of the species included are widespread across southern England or more. It also has 'Test your knowledge' games, so you can have a bit of fun while you learn, and a 'What's about this month' section.

Reviews of Wild Essex

Leave a Review Wild Essex
  • Brilliant app!

Helped me identify common species with in my area, I now go in regular butterfly catching outings with my friends!
  • Basic but useful

A simple basic app that is very useful for quick identification
  • Great ap

This app is an easy and fast way to identify local flora and fauna, with good descriptions, photos, examples of their song or call, and the best time of year to see them.

It would be nice if there was a way to link this to the RSPB or other such nature or environmental charities - whom I'm sure the local data recording feature of this ap would be invaluable.
