Couldn't get to work

Downloaded the free version for my grandson and then decided to purchase the app. More tools and thought no more adds. Got more tools but learned after the fact that I had to pay more for the removal of adds! Right after purchasing the app we opened it and all tools were locked except for one. Tried to "restore the app" and was not able to exit the screen.
