Not working?
Simulation doesn't show effects, just looks like a normal camera.
poor implementation
Great idea, good functionalities with poor implementation that consumes device's memory. I've never faced such memory consumption from any other application!
Fantastic educational tool!
"What can you see?" Is a question I'm asked on a daily basis, due to working in a public place with a guide dog. "There's an app for that!", breaks the ice and educates others about my retinitis pigmentosa in an amazing way. The app works flawlessly on my 5s. Thanks to the VisionSim team for an app that helps others grasp a difficult concept and how much impact vision loss can have. kudos!

the red circle can be turned off in the settings. its there to indicate where your vision would be affected
Did not work
Was hoping to get a glimpse of how a family member sees with macular degeneration. Photo simply shows a red circle at the very center. I am using this with an iPhone 5s. Perhaps there needs to be an update?
Great App! Love the update.
This app is great. Works very well on my iPhone 4S. The sims are solid and the information is solid. Really interesting to see life through the eyes of someone with one of these eye diseases. Quite good. Highly recommend.
Simulator Crashes
I give credit for the informational service this app provides, but I have been very disappointed in the simulation, which has never worked after multiple attempts. In addition, the app crashed during several of those tries. I installed this app to better understand macular degeneration. Instead, I get error messages on my iPad mini saying that system memory is low on my device and that the simulator is being turned off. If this device doesn't work on all Apple devices, the product description should indicate that. Better still, I hope the developer will make the appropriate adjustments and fixes so this app can realize its full potential.

Powerful tool
We've been designing materials for seniors for years, and visual acuity has long been an issue. This is an excellent way to experience the effects of aging eyes, and, of course, of more serious eye diseases. Very easy to use, very clear app. Well done.
Best Way to Illustrate a Point for Vision Impairment Advocacy
One of the hardest parts when discussing the Affects of sight loss comes when describing what it looks like to loook through the optical system of the impacted person. With this app, all one needs to do is point and gaze as the iPad's screen. Even better yet, the app allows to show how a condition progresses from minimal sight impairment to the end stages of the most common conditions. For greater affect during a presentation, one simply needs to connect the iPad into a prjector or large screen, thus enabling a much larger view of life with a condition.
Thank you very much for developing this app.

Great tool for simulating vision loss
I love this app, and sharing it with those who don't understand what it's like to suffer from vision loss. I like how you can change the degrees of eye conditions by sliding the scale within the simulator. It is a great tool, and I can't wait to see what improvements and additional eye conditions may be added in the future.
