The app is designed to address all components of the healthcare delivery system, including hospitals, long-term care facilities, ambulatory care, home care and hospice. FEATURES: -Simple and intuitive user interface -Hundreds of infection control precautions organized by both micro-organism and disease -Information adapted from the CDC as well as other trusted sources -"Common Conditions" (AKA Favorites) section for quick access -Section with vital information for infection control of special hosts including cystic fibrosis, HIV, and hematopoietic stem cell transplant patients -Comprehensive information about all isolation precaution types (standard, contact, droplet, airborne) -Fully customizable! Add, delete, or edit existing entries easily About us: This application was developed by Amaran Moodley and Richard Lee in collaboration with Hipposoft, LLC at the University of California, San Diego. The application incorporates guidelines from the 2007 “Guideline for Isolation Precautions: preventing transmission of infectious agents in healthcare settings”. This material was used with permission from the Healthcare Infection Control Practices Advisory Committee of the Centers for Disease Control (CDC). Additional information was obtained from American Academy of Pediatrics Red Book 2009. Information on cystic fibrosis was obtained from the 2003 Cystic Fibrosis Foundation Guideline, “Infection Control Recommendations for patients with cystic fibrosis: microbiology, important pathogens, and infection control practices to prevent patient to patient transmission”.
