  • Great magazine, but very flawed app

The discover app seems to be nothing other then a poorly design, very ugly PDF reader. There doesn't even seem to be a table of contents so I can select an article to jump right to!

I'm very sad to see that this isn't an innovative, wonderful to use app like the Wired magazine app. I hope that this app is updated ASAP. I definitely will not be renewing my subscription.

  • Subscription Ripoff

Not only is it asking me to pay for issues I've already subscribed to (December), it doesn't give me any guidance or way to get in touch with someone who could help resolve this.
  • Buggy, buggy, buggy

This app has serious problems. First after subscribing I was able to download only one issue. The next issue the app would only let me purchase. After restoring my purchases (had to do this multiple times over a few days) it now says the latest issue has been downloaded. However when I try to open it, all I get as a black screen with the circle thing indicating downloading. The downloading never ends...

  • Problem Resolved

I've been in discussion with Discover Magazine and brought the error with the November issue to their attention with help of another media outlet. This has been resolved and every active subscriber can now download the November issue without being required to pay an additional fee.
  • Slow, and crashes every few pages

Lets get something straight, I love this magazine and have been buying every issue released for the past 4 years from the news stand. As soon as it was available to purchase a subscription through the app store, I jumped on the opportunity and subscribed.

For a magazine about science, someone with very little of it designed this app. The app continuously crashes and it is very slow to navigate around.

I seem to also be having the same issue as everyone else and their subscription. I am being asked to purchase the November issue even though I have already paid for a one year subscription which should end late 2013.

  • Worth it!

Note: it takes a day or two for the subscription to go through so that you can download the issues, so don't panic if you can't read the issue right away.

I really like this app. I love Discover and I've had a subscription for years, so when I saw this app, I had to have it.

Yes, it does cost money, but most subscriptions do. The initial free status of the app is just to let you get a taste. Makes sense to me, it's how the Newsstand works.

If you have an iPad and love discover, I obviously recommend this app.

  • October 2012 issue

I've noticed that the October 2012 issue has already been released. But it is not currently available to the iPad subscribers. I'm not sure how long it will take for them to update the magazine for us iPad users but it's a bit frustrating to say the least.

Other than that I really enjoy this magazine and I enjoy reading it on the iPad, so I really have nothing to complain about. Overall it's a great application and an excellent magazine.

  • Useless and annoying

This is not an app for starters and should not be listed as one. It is a subscription for fee NOT free so that also is a falsehood. It creates this Newsstand app that can not be removed or put in a folder so that is massively annoying. It gives you no access to the free content they have on the Discover website. All around this is a failure and I'm very sorry I downloaded it as I now have this thing I can not remove. I am beyond disappointed in Discover for producing something this horrible.

  • Discovery

I discovered there's not much free besides the app download.
How do I delete this ???????
    And why can't I rate a zero
  • NOT FREE.

You download the app for free but any interesting content costs. Fail.
