Good enough
It’s a free app, so I cannot complain too much. The purpose of it is to have a visual timer, which it does. It, however, does not show you a clock counting down anywhere so you can see how long you have left. It’s more like a sand timer where you just see it and guesstimate - “you have around 3 minutes left”. Moreover, sometimes it ticks like a wind-up timer and then, for no apparent reason, the ticking sound stops, then cuts back in again unexpectedly. There is no sound to let you know that the timer has gone off, just the ticking stops and the background picture becomes complete. So, if you are working away while your student does their activity, you might think that the clicking has cut out randomly. Or your student might have paused or reset it. This means you have to visually check it regularly. The advance 10 seconds or rewind 10 seconds feature is nice.Show lessNotimpressedagain
The best little app!
I rarely write app reviews but I felt I needed to for this timer. Worth the $1 for the paid version with no ads. I work in a school and use it all the time with students to help them transition between activities, out of the room, etc. They love seeing what photo will come up next and watching the colors change on the timer. Great for kids!
I just read a review that I can relate to and it’s using it with special needs students. I am a teacher and I find this app helps students process and understand beginning and the end of something. I use it to calm students down, I use it to help them process how much time they may have with a task and I use it to understand the concept of time.
