Description of Checkpoint Clock

The Richta Rally Checkpoint Clock is an application designed as a timing device for use at checkpoints during Time-Speed-Distance road rallys. It can also be used as a time reference for Class B or "Seat of the Pants" rally classes. When the "Split" button is pressed the clock records the time of the split in a scrollable log area at the bottom of the display. An associated car number can optionally be recorded as well. Log entries can be reviewed by scrolling the screen and individual log entries may be deleted. The clock can be dynamically changed to record in seconds, tenths of a second, or hundredths of a minute (decimal minutes). A facility is provided to adjust the time of day clock independently of the devices clock so that the app can be synchronized to an external time reference without changing the device's clock. *** Note *** The accuracy of the clock over time, sometimes called drift, depends on the accuracy of the underlying hardware.

  • Do not buy - terrible GUI and overpriced

I purchased this as an event organiser specified it. How anyone can justify £3 for this App on IoS is beyond me. GUI is very poor, digits too small, contrast poor ( especially in Sun and with certain iOS default settings) No provision for wrong approach, does not use 24hr clock. No info page, very few settings. Only allows transmission of a checkpoint data set via email and only if using a default mail App. I am disappointed that App Store allowed something this poor to be hosted especially at this price.

  • Spit button should be larger

Great app. Have used for many TSD rally checkpoints. Having a larger split button would be nice. Too easy to miss the current button when looking at a car crossing the line. Can’t really look at the app and the car at the same time.
  • Good app

It's a good app for the price you pay. You get basic clock and as many split times as you want. Great for working flying finish. The only thing I don't like is when I have to sync it with the master clock. There should be a way to set a time then hold and release to set the clock
