  • Brings medical research home

I have found this app incredibly useful in researching therapies and treatment for Down Syndrome which is my area of interest. The interface is simple and easy to use which may sacrifice more complex academic searches but that is not what I use it for. This brings medical research into the non-geek arena. I like the feature to save favorites and the links between different articles. It also takes you directly to full text when it is available. I have been looking for an app that does what unbound does for the longest time and am relieved to have found it. A plus in my book . If they add too many features it would make it unwieldy. I like it just the way it is!

  • Not useful

Interface is attractive but too limited. Can't perform complex searches (i.e., specify author and abstract + title word and year). This could be overlooked if there was a way to manage PDFs. As is, one can only view PDF files or, if there's a PMC version, you can email it or save to Dropbox. Two stunning omissions are (1) the capability to open PDFs in another app (since there's no library or annotation tools) and (2) you can only export the PMC PDF, not the publisher's PDFs. Assuming you have access, you can open the publisher's PDF, look at it, then just close the window. A suggestion to the developer, run this past a pubmed user next time.

  • Intuitive!

Very powerful way to explore and find journal articles! Highly recommended!
  • unbound MEDLINE

I find this to be a valuable app for doing research on NCBI websites. It is convenient and easy to use on my iPad.
  • Room for Improvement

    Needs more sharing/browser connectivity.
  • I love it!!

Answers on the fly, save favorites, plentiful full text available. Plus, easy to email to self or colleague, or librarian, who can find the missing full text.

I find the iPad version EASIER than Pub Med on the desktop! My go-to method of literature review
  • A fabulous advance in rapid focus of any medical research question

I have used med line for literally 30+ years and have loved how in recent years the functionality of the 'Entrez' interface has allowed a rapid relational access to articles with similar key words and MESH terms. The interface for Unbound Medline's access to articles is smooth and elegant, allowing rapid scanning and review of abstracts. But what gives this a '5' stars in my estimation is the incredibly useful 'grapherence' feature - this takes scanning for relevant articles to a whole new level of rapid and focused capability to hone in on key articles. It is a citation index and 'permutaterm' (for those chronologically gifted folks like me who remember this) function all rolled into an easily understood and easily learned visual interface. Only drawback: not all articles have the grapherence feature. Truly a great product.

  • Great information on the go

I've enjoyed the quick reference aspects of Unbound Medicine as well as its dependably accurate data updates. I recommend the application to both novice and seasoned practitioners seeking handy, ready reference material.
  • Excellent literature.

Excellent resources not available to the public. I used the resources to research the positives and negatives of birth control pills for my college age daughters. Excellent references helped them decide what was best for them.
  • The Best!

    Found every article possible!
