Kids love these apps!!

I know these Peekaboo apps seem simple- but preschoolers love them. And I've found that they're excellent for second language learners. I work with children with special needs- and some of them are just learning English. Now that I can put my phone on Guided Access so that they can't get out of the app and mess with my phone it's fantastic to have the Peekaboo series- whenever I'm in the car with them they can pick one and play it while I drive so that they're getting some language content!

My biggest complaint about this app is that it doesn't have the record-your-own-language option that Peekaboo Barn has. Seriously- if you have a feature like that, why wouldn't you put it in all your apps of the series? I work with French speaking children too and I'd love to be able to record and type in the French words for the characters and be able to use it with Francophone children as well. Heck- I love having children's parents record in their native language to Peekaboo Barn, it'd be great to have that feature show up in the rest of the series! Once that happens I'll add the extra star.

Disappointed - expected more from this great company

We love Peekaboo Barn and Forest - Andy never tires of them. Their color and sound effects are so vivid and engaging.
We had high expectations for this app, but we're very disappointed and probably won't play it again unless we are stuck in an airport and desperate.
The sound effects are so quiet, even with the volume turned up - and they aren't very engaging or interesting or different from one food to the next.
Second of all - where is the Spanish version that is available on their other apps?
Third, the fridge seems to be temperamental. Andy has to hit it about 5 times in order for it to open - a frustrating length of time for a 16 month old! We haven't seen that on the other apps.
I would save your money until they upgrade this - or try another in the Peekaboo family.

seriously?

well that was a waste of 1.99!

Not a good peekaboo

My son loves peekaboo barn because he guesses the animal based on the sound. Since food doesn't make noise, this really seems dumb.

Not like the others

We are big peekaboo fans in our house - especially my 15 month old daughter. So when this one was released, I excitedly bought it but was very quickly disappointed. As the others have mentioned, the sounds are really odd and don't really teach the children what each food is. Maybe more like crunching or slurping sounds would have been better, or even music. I really don't like the faces on the foods either. They just seem odd. Their strong suit is in the animal world, but this fridge one just isn't a favorite.

What happened with language options

Our daughter loves peekaboo barn and peekaboo forest (although is the iPhone version and we played it in the iPad) and my husband and I love the multilingual options! I was very excited when I saw this one and assumed it will have the same options as the other ones. Very disappointed that only has English! Really hoping you will update it soon and include other languages and the options for mama and papa to record their own voice!

Avoid

Peekaboo Farm is much better. This is simply boring with a limited variety of fruit and veg and not much to keep a baby's attention when the fridge opens. IMHO it needs better sound and more variety.

Too cute!

Good job :)

The sounds ruin it!

First off I have to say my son loves playing this, especially since these are words we have recently been working on BUT what the heck is up with the SOUNDS they make??? Honestly the weird grunts and words sound pervy, my husband overheard him playing it on my phone and asked what the hell is he playing?! Seriously he tries to mimic these sounds that have no correlation to the foods and it annoys me, just no sound please, the knocking is enough. Thanks!

Love the sound fx!

My 2-year-old walks around the house copying the eggs saying, "oh yea." I love these Peekaboo apps for fun vocabulary building. Fridge item names have been a new addition to my son's world so we were excited to find a tool to encourage pronunciation. And in terms of kid's toys, you can't beat the price. The only thing you find at the toy store for $2 are wind up toys from China.
