Reviews of ColorSnap® Visualizer for iPad

  • Great idea but bad implementation

I thought this would be great to see different colors on my house with my own photo. While I was able to do that eventually, this buggy app made it very painful. First it does not always respond to add colors of open your photos. Second it doesn’t allow you to save a project and then open it later to review more colors. Instead you have to reopen the photo and painstakingly redefine paint areas. Third, I was able to add a few colors but then response to add colors stopped even though I had not maxed out the number allowed. And fourth the colors can’t be accurate as the paint color is actually transparent on the photo. This means that whatever is in the original photo affects the displayed color. Real painting hides the original color. So, basically I find this is useless to help me decide which colors to use.
  • Difficult to navigate

I was excited with this concept as an aid to choose colors for my bathroom, but I assume became bogged down in trying to navigate the app. I gave up because I couldn’t figure out how to change colors. The idea is great, but I think it needs to be dumbed down a bit, so that newbies like me can figure out how to work it.
There are so many features it’s confusing, and when I click on something I would like it to take me somewhere.
  • This is a great idea but it needs some work

This app is a great idea and it really has helped me to visualize how the colors will look in my rooms. The app itself has some problems which could surely be updated. I haven’t figured out how to delete pages in My Ideas. Somehow instead of saving the room it saves the palette at the bottom of the page sometimes so I have all these pictures of palettes mixed in with my rooms. I can’t take a room that is already saved and edit it, I have to start over. Using your finger to paint is not very precise. I would buy an Apple Pencil to use but I could not find if it can be used with this program anywhere. Fairly often the program gets “stuck” and I have to turn it off and back on. So, this app is useful but also very user unfriendly and frustrating to use. It is very possible that some of this is user error since I have only been using it here and there for a week, but even so, it should be much easier to use.
