There are many kinds of puzzles, including regular Sudoko, Killer, Calculation, and my favorite, Futoshiki, a wonderful variation of Sudoku involving inequalities. This is by FAR the best implementation of Futoshiki available. Other apps limit the grid to 5x5, or have a trivial solution, don't allow note marks, etc. Here (as In all the puzzles) there are 5 levels of difficulty, ranging from very simple to very difficult. For someone who plays a lot of Sudoku, it's hard to find puzzles that are truly challenging. The game has another feature which I think is brilliant; pen marks can be in different colors. For example in a Futoshiki square I can use different colors for the lowest and highest possible values. This is an invaluable tool for difficult puzzles.
To address a couple of complaints: sound can be turned off, and I think the price of new puzzles is very reasonable given that you can replay puzzles (unload game, reload, then restore purchases.) For a few dollars I've purchased all the Futosiki packs, which gives me hundreds of difficult puzzles. I've been replaying them for years! There's also a nice version of Sea Search. Give this a try!
