For some reason, my original review has been removed from here. I tried emailing the developer three times now, and each time it comes back “return to sender”. He seemed responsive after he replied to my review, but now I’m unable to contact him about my issues with the app. Unable to give a better rating until this is resolved.

To seek immediate help, you could send to feedbacks@goeye-app.com. But anyway, I will answer the questions here.
First of all, most questions are caused by being new to Go Eye.
Let's jump to answer quickly.
- "Importing games is a pain! "
There are at least 10 more convenient ways to import but you only use the most painful way. It supports importing SGFs(Single SGF file, zipped or tar'ed)from airdrop, dropbox, email attachment, iTunes (which might be obsolete on new Mac after Apple updated iTunes), and web page by tapping the SGF URL(zip/tar links as well) link directly in one or two seconds! Let me know if you get problems doing all these. e.g., open your iOS filer, tap the SGF file and choose "Copy to Go Eye"
- "The tree view doesn’t scroll to the current move automatically as I play out variations"
- There is an option in settings which enables the "auto show variations" (Session 2 in settings).
"when modifying variations, you can only delete one move at a time"
You can long tap the variation icon, when the icon shakes (like deleting an app in iOS desktop page), tap "-" to delete a variation.
-"the stone numbering system is broken, as stones played in spots that had previously been occupied (like in a koi fight) are given the number of the stone that was previously there".
Not sure what screen you are referring, in the main board page, it shows current number. In book page view, as it shows the ko chain, it will show the earliest number. Please give an example through email or other ways.
-Overall, the entire UI is cumbersome compared to apps that cost much less.
I can say most people love Go Eye because of its beautiful UI.
-you cannot organize games into folders, but rather into “groups”, which can’t be reordered once created. Extremely inconvenient for organizing games.
You can reorder them by dragging, or selecting games (press edit to enter editing mode for game list) and move them to other groups easily.
-The Augmented Reality view and 3D views are neat, but not very useful, and you can’t zoom to make to Augmented reality table larger or smaller, which is also ridiculous.
For AR, you need to zoom in your device instead of gesture!
-The “help” section is severely outdated, with pictures and iconography from previous versions of the app, which makes it almost useless in learning the functionality.
Apologize for the outdated help. This is a big problem of Go Eye. It has little document on its richest features. Most of the great features and small details are to be discovered by users or by asking the developer through emails. Will try to have a great document of Go Eye in the future.
-- All in all, I very much regret purchasing this instead of EasyGo Pro, or even SmartGo Kifu, which is more expensive. The ONLY advantage of this app is that it has good integration with websites like go4go for following professional games. Perhaps this app is really only for that purpose, but if that’s the case, no need for it to be so expensive. For reviewing and annotating your own sgf’s,, it is very unsatisfactory.
I hope that you will feel lucky instead as you buy a better app with half price after you discover the greatness of Go Eye. Most users love it and gave very high ratings.
Thanks.
P.S. I really appreciating your posting the detailed descriptions of the problems instead of just rating one 1-star and leaving a brief ambiguous bad comments :)
