Insteon has officially gone bankrupt. Look elsewhere
For those of you who don’t know, Insteon has closed its doors and is no longer supporting its products. The company has filed for bankruptcy as their plans to be acquired by another company have failed. I’ve used Insteon products for years and now am in the process of ripping out all my switches and converting to Lutron Caseta.
Do yourself a favor and look elsewhere for smart home controls. Insteon has left all of us in the lurch due to bad management.

Company seems to be out of business
Everything just stoped working.
SmartLabs shutdown cloud servers
This app will not work without Internet servers to authenticate. The company has apparently gone out of business.
Not working
Invested in this platform, now it hasn’t been working for nearly a week. Reached out to support and no response. Several family members are using Insteon in their homes as well, and had the same issue start at about the same time. When we attempt to login to the app it just says error.
Zero support
ZERO stars if I could give it! Ever since Smarthome and Insteon were acquired, support has all but disappeared. And you simply cannot find devices in stock on the website - looks like they’re dumping whatever they had left. On Good Friday 2022, the servers that connect the Hub with this app have apparently disappeared. Will they return? I seriously doubt it, as the corporate raiders who acquired the company are gutting it for scrap. Insteon, for me, had always been a reliable system, but turning off the servers is a giant slap in the face. Time for me to drop Insteon and start replacing my remaining in-wall switches with other platforms. (Can’t even sell the remaining switches on eBay if the app’s servers are unplugged.)

I’m slowly replacing insteon devices with hubless WiFi alternative
Yes, the title says it all. As an Insteon device dies, oh yes they die, I will replace them. I had a plug-in module which keeps losing connection to the hub even though it was near the hub. I removed from the hub and re-add it to the hub without any luck so I threw it in the garbage. And there was a wired-in wall switch for my living room light/fan. It started to turn on the fan/light without any schedule setup for it. So I removed the switch from the system but still keeps turning on the fan/light at random times. So I un-installed it and threw it in the garbage. Plus this software is buggy, UI is bad, and it seems like Insteon has abandoned development of this app.

iOS 15 hangs
Since upgrading to iOS 15, camera live views will pause and hand after about 5 seconds. You can switch to another camera and back again, but that’s a hassle.
Stop Complaining and Use This App!
It’s July 28, 2021 and I just let my $50/year MobiLink subscription expire because this app does everything I need to do when away from home. My Insteon system currently has 20 scenes (7 of which are scheduled), 32 KeypadLink buttons, and 23 other devices including an IO Link. Everything is set up and managed via the ISY Admin Console on my Mac. I don’t need to run every scene or set up any schedules when away from home, and it was no big deal to reprogram four scenes into this app. This app runs the IO Link whereas the newer Insteon app does not, and this app works faultlessly across both my wife’s and my iPhones running the current iOS. I have the newer Insteon Hub installed and I highly recommend this app to everyone who does.

What a complete joke
Featureless. Even those features that do work are severely handicapped. You cannot have more than one scene respond to sunrise/sunset? Really?! Even the old x10 junk could do that. And just try to set a schedule time in ios14.X. It’s like trying to use a slot machine to set time- minutes constantly scroll, and it ignores touches to reduce the number. This is basic stuff they’re failing on. I guess they want everyone to spend a couple hundred on an isy994i - but that’s overkill for most installs - and also fails at some very basic programming functions (like no calendar. Really?!).
Losing my appetite for insteon, and have been an insteon user since its earliest days. Shameful.
