  • Awesome Unique Fun

Finally! An app that isn't a clone. Unique cut and paste retro-style photo-effects creator makes this fun. Yes, some of the other comments are spot on - edge detection is a little rough and an eraser would be great, but.... I'm having fun and actually using this app.

Downside is the export to Instagram is a little fuzzy but I'm going to bet that's Instagram - not the fault of this app. Great entertainment. Good color schemes. Overall super out of the box app.

  • Extraction doesn't work

Potential to be a really cool app, but the extraction is pretty bad, lots of artifacts even with very neutral backgrounds and clean margins. Would be better if extraction worked, or there were a way to edit mask without starting from scratch every time. Would also like an option to just skip extraction and edit original image.

  • Good 1.0! Wish it had a 'Refine Edges'

Works smoothly and has good variety, but could use some more attention to selection refining.

    Pros:

    • Works smoothly even on an iPhone 4
    • Ingenious hold-to-start-drawing delay, so you can drag with one finger and not accidentally start selection.
    • Has a HUGE number of fonts for your average image fiddling app.
    • Pinch zoom during select and pinch resize with image elements.
    • Good color schemes; I'm genuinely glad they're not customizable - you'd spend forever trying to pick something retro.
    • Can send element layers forward and backward.
    • Good selection of badges, backgrounds, and other elements. (Could still use a couple more to round out the retro look, like rays or stripes.)
    • Elements resize well. (But they're not pure vector, so you'll see some degradation at sizes you shouldn't be using anyway.)
    • Tutorial only shows up twice and then GOES AWAY without having to turn it off manually through settings! \o/

    Cons:

    • Edge detection is only decent, and sometimes gets part of the background.
    • No eraser during selection, which means your only option is to zoom in and be more careful.
    • Doesn't seem to allow hollows, so gaps inside the subject (e.g. crooked elbow) aren't transparent.
