    :))))))
  • Crashes lots

This app crashes almost on every screen
  • PUC Student

    Needs more attention.
  • Perfect app for PUC students and Faculty

Fully functional. Nic Hubbard is a genius.
  • iPad app shows nothing by default

Unlike the iPhone version, which, is totally iPhone 5 optimized, the iPad app shows "no events" in the event tab. The iPhone version populates that field with archive data. It is much nicer on the iPhone :( fix that and ill take it up to the five stars it deserves!
  • Has lots of sweet features

This is not just a mobile version of PUC's web site but a true app that pulls the data behind the web site and makes it much more accessible and interactive within a native iOS app. Rotation is supported which is handy on small screens and it is universal with a native iPad version that utilizes the larger screen space nicely.

Besides the usual news, photos and calendar items (all of which are shareable by email, Twitter or Facebook), you can also view the entire class schedule for the next several quarters with links to the faculty directory. Staff are now also in the directory which is searchable several ways - nice. The campus map puts pins over Google maps of the various buildings but then there is also alternate views to show pins of favorite local dining options and other points of interest. In the settings you can choose regular, sattelite or hybrid mode. Also, you can view the points of interest pins in a list - just an example of the attention to detail put into this app.

There is a nice audio section that ties into all the recorded services that Media Services makes available going back several years. You can play locally or use Airplay to wireless speakers. If I miss a vespers or colloquy service I can listen later right from this app.

BTW, the news uses push notification so I see any new item uploaded to the PUC news web site automatically. I'm not sure how I turned that on since I don't see a setting for that but I like it. I find myself sharing some of these since it's so easy - something I never did before. Copy/Paste is fully supported in News too which is handy for clipping snippets.

The latest cool feature is a library module that's lets you search the online library catalog - much nicer than just using a mobil web browser. And there is a button for sending in questions directly to a librarian for some live help.

My favorite (and maybe yours too) is the Cafe Menu section which tells me what's cooking every day. Now if I could just order my custom omelette from there...

In the settings section, you will find a way to contact the app author for questions or bug reports without leaving the app. This is so much nicer than most apps. And you will find tech support is quick to respond. While you are in settings, take a peek at the little easter egg in there by pulling down the screen. :-)

This app has continued to get better over it's short life already. I didn't give it 5 stars because it is perfect, but becaue it is outstanding with what it does. The bar has been set for our sister institutions for sure and I look forward to seeing new features added in the future.
