Reviews of iLive OneMix

Great app! 2 complaints.

Use this app twice a week to obtain a single bus mix for the bus that I'm assigned to on our church's iLive mixing console. It lets me adjust things on my iPad without needing to bother the FOH sound engineer with my requests.

First complaint is for Apple. The app times out and disconnects when it's not in foreground. So if I'm reading music charts and I try to switch back to OneMix to lower something that's too loud in my in-ear monitors, it can disconnect, and require that the app be force closed, re-opened, and a new login entered. This can be a pain in the middle of a song while playing live. Allen & Heath's app coders have nothing to do with this, and have opened a trouble ticket with Apple (as have I) to find out why the wireless connection times out.

The second complaint is Landscape mode only. WHY do companies make this into their apps? So if I'm reading a music chart in Portrait, and want to make a mix adjustment in OneMix, it only opens sideways in Landscape, IF it didn't disconnect. PLEASE make the app rotate into both Landscape and Portrait viewing modes. Thanks.

Aside from those two 'bugs', the app is something that my sound engineer and I both rely on regularly. It gives me control of my mix, without ever having to ask for anything. Awesome! Now lets just work out the two quirks. But overall, great job! Invaluable for the price.

Not iOS 9 Compatable

I enjoyed using this app for my IEM mix on iOS 8. iOS 9 will open the app one time and is fully functional until it closes or loses connection. Restarting the app results in the app crashing when connecting to the iDR. Rebooting does not fix the issue. Uninstalling and reinstalling sometimes fixes the app until the next time the app is started. Please update this app as our band all rely on this app for our IEM mixes.

Onemix is the answer

We've considered Planet personal monitor mixing solutions for a while but this app does the job brilliantly and all our users (5 of us already) are more than happy with the performance of this app.

It's brand new and needs a few bugs ironing out / performance tweaks but A&H started from a great platform (Mixpad, which we also have) and so have already produced a great piece of software at v1.00.

I've given it 4 stars - it's worth every penny (and pretty nicely priced for it's purpose) but it loses the chance for a fifth due to the method by which users are managed. The FoH / MON desk operator(s) have got to set this up for the musician. (Log on as admin - select mix then set it up - then hand back for the user to log on). There is no support for users to log on and from doing so - pick up pre-configured settings for each musician or mix-monitor point. You can also only link the app to a single mix which means mono-mix IEM users (two mixes blended - drummers being a good example) are not well catered for by the app. These are really minor points compared to the gains all our musicians have got from using the app so it genuinely is a solid 4 STARS and definitely worth getting if you already have iLive / MixPad.

Top effort A&H!

--- Bugs/issues we'd like addressed ---
* Up to two mixes rather than one?
* Possible to change implementation / setting up of users so logging into a certain account pulls up configuration / mix set up?
* Any chance of making run in the background so user doesn't have to log back in if the change app (iPad 2/3)
* Any chance we can avoid wasting a bank to put your own mix in - be nicer to have 4 user layers rather than 3 plus one with just your mix in it. (Space for 32 inputs without scrolling left to right).
* Noticed that if you select an input in a layer without processing enabled and then jump to your own mix (where you may have processing enabled) you are able to see and adjust processing for that input channel - this looks like a bug.
