Misleading

App costs money, then requires subscription to use the features shown in the photos. Misleading and deceitful. Finally found an app that looked like it would work well for me, spent $10 and can’t even use it for what I want. I want a refund.

Suggestions

I like the app and bought it years ago, would love to see a custom time picker for example by phone plan renews every 360 days. Also rollover data was included in the original purchase and moved behind a subscription, should be grandfathered in. Would love to see a onetime lifetime purchase or at least be able to purchase features individually like rollover data. Great app just don’t like subscriptions.

DataMan you are gaining your mojo

This App has been awesome in the past and continues to improve over the years. There was a time when it would be off in its usage tracking but that has been improved. It's accuracy has been way on point and automatic reset at billing cycle is as well. DataMan you are gaining your mojo.

Subscriptions for WIDGETS? Really?

If an app that requires virtually zero outside resources costs a dollar, it shouldn’t HAVE A SUBSCRIPTION TO USE BASIC FEATURES, LIKE DIFFERENT WIDGET SIZES.

I’d pay for a subscription if it cost the develop an obvious amount of money to maintain over time, but seriously? I gave you money so I can have the privilege of giving you more money over time?

Review of DataMan

Great app for tracking mobile and WiFi data usage. I have had no problems with this app and seems to run ok. The multitasking option for tracking uses hardly any data to track cellular usage while roaming and is great for monitoring your monthly usage. This app has also helped in switching most of my data hungry apps which were eating up cellular data to wifi use only. An option to see which apps were using up the data throughout the day well or month would be great to to help trim my apps usage still further. Keep up the good work on further developing this great app.

App update for iOS17 broke it

Update: Devs response was helpful. After restarting my iPhone 14 Pro, the stopwatch widget was restored.

Original Review: The last update apparently for iOS17 removed or broke the functionality to manually start/stop data usage tracking. Please fix!!!

Not accurate

Like the review by Vincent _apple, also find the app reporting inaccurately, specifically reporting WAY higher usage than what is in seen in my carrier app. Background refresh is on. This wasn’t like this before, started maybe a few months ago…

Lacks breakout of hotspot usage

With latest iPhones there is no option to either manually reset data usage nor can you set the billing cycle to match the provider. Unlimited only refers to high speed data, especially for hotspot. The app loses a star for not reporting Hotspot data independently from overall data usage. If that were included in the subscribe version it would be worth it to me. Would be willing to help test this

Not accurate

The data usage monitor is not accurate and it’s always off compared to carrier usage page. Cannot rely on it.

Subscriptions, for a paid app, really?

DO NOT BUY THIS APP IF ANY OF THE FOLLOWING APPLIES TO YOU (Unless you’re ok with a subscription of 1.29 MONTHLY)

You have a plan that does not reset on a calendar month

You Have data that rolls over on a monthly basis

Pretty much useless to me.

The fact that there is a subscription isn’t displayed anywhere prominently in the App Store page isn’t great either
