Mouse Support
First off I want to thank Xactimate for making a great app. There’s still some hang ups with logins at times and resetting the password happens more often than it should. This app runs better than running it on our windows machine and I hope that someday a Mac version will be released.
I have 1 critique that it’s possible the developers weren’t thinking of when they built the app. I almost was able to switch our entire company to Xactimate on iPad. What’s lacking? Mouse support. Not that a mouse won’t work. It works flawlessly. When you’re drawing a job the only way to move around the screen is the Apple Pencil or your finger. This works amazing on job sites. However I would prefer when I get back to the office to connect the iPad up to my 4k screen and use a mouse and keyboard. I can draw and do everything else with a mouse. But to zoom or scroll around a drawing I gotta lift my finger up to do it. The M4 ipad is more than powerful enough to do everything else. Personally I find it quicker to draw with an Apple Pencil or with a mouse and keyboard at the office more than AR.
No I’m not the guy taking a mouse and keyboard to a job. But sometimes the plans get sent over by the homeowner in pdf. In that instance mouse and keyboard all day would be great. If I need to go to another job I can grab the iPad and run. It’s really the perfect platform for this. Thanks guys! If you need clarification on what I’m talking about feel free to reach out to me.

Xact does not return calls.
Recently, on four occasions, I have left messages for the sales team to return calls in the order received. None of the calls were returned. On two of the calls I was on hold for over an hour. On one of the two, I went on line while on hold and with the 24 hour help line to document the on hold call and types in “# 10th listening to the recording.” I listened to the recording over 50 times and typed a message each time. The associate on line did all she could and advised the longest on waiting was 1:10 min. I took screen shots with my cell phone showing time on hold to send to upper management but none listed to send. I finally hung up and advised the on line I had a attend a doctors appointment. Upper management will probably never see this. I’m a independent adjuster, pay out of my own pocket the professional version and Xactimate user for over 12 years. At the time of the calls, there was no active hurricanes. There are no excuses for this kind of service.

How to speed it up
I’ve been using the mobile version for almost 2 years now. The app has seemingly gotten more and more unstable. I have an iPhone Pro 15 max, which I keep updated. The app has been shutting down on me while I’m taking photos, and it has started to take an extremely long time to open. When I called Support, after the normal suggestions, they suggested that I delete the app and reinstall it. I was skeptical that this would work, as I always keep my phone updated, but I tried it anyways. Surprisingly, it made a huge difference, the app now starts almost instantaneously. I’ll see how it progresses, but I wanted to put that on this review for anyone else who might be looking for additional speed and reliability
