Description of CanPlan

*** WHAT IS IT? *** CanPlan promotes independence and builds confidence by helping people with cognitive challenges complete tasks successfully. For any given task, a user initially goes through the activity with a support person or family member. Together, they take photos of each step in the task, adding text or audio as needed. • Adding Photos

I was diagnosed very late in my early 20’s with dyslexia, dysgraphia, math and bad short/long term memory. So retrieving and hold information verbally is extremely hard for me. This app seems to help with that. Letters are large and I can add whatever image to that task I want. Remembering appointments, events and other minor task like ‘remember to close/lock window’ or make sure ‘remember to turn-off stove”. Its helpful. My only complaint is I should have excess to my own photo library. Taking photos one at a time for me is mentally draining for me.

  • Help please

I want to add categories, I went to your manual and it said to tap on the button on the bottom left of the “all tasks” view, yet when I click it, it is asking me to add a task.

    Please help.
  • Quickly create visual schedules

Very easy app to navigate and create visual schedules for individuals with disabilites. And did I mention it's FREE! Occasional glitches when freezes in photo selection mode on iPhone, but just close app, reopen and all good. Nice to break down steps of task for individual who needs step by step direction. Allows you to check off as complete each step. Look forward to trying it on our iPad.
