Leave a Review Drugs.com Medication Guide
As a Certified Pharmacy Technician, this helps
I’m currently working in a Walmart pharmacy, and all the time I have questions about drugs. I am also hoping to eventually study to become a pharmacist. Along my path of studies as a technician, this app has helped me understand drug classes and also be able to search for drugs with limited information from patients that don’t remember the names or pronunciations of drugs.
In my personal life, I feel confident in understanding side effects for my own medicines I take, because I know the information here is backed by multiple pharmacists. Many obscure side effects that my own pharmacists haven’t received reports on from their patients are recorded here. The ability to compare drugs is also outstanding, seeing the pros and cons of each drug side by side. What can this app NOT teach me about drugs?Show lessBest thing since sliced bread
I am on a multitude of medications and this app keeps them all organized for me including the times I take each medication and the dose I take. When I go to the Doctor I just print out the list or show them on my phone and it cuts the time down to less than half what it took before to verify my medications. I also like the fact that it lists my allergies and related interactions with the other medications I take. There is a list of my medical conditions. You can add personal notes, appointments, injuries, surgeries, prescribing physician etc.
This is a complete picture of my medical history and so easy to access and update. I love it. I think everyone should use this app whether you are taking one medication or ten medications. Having the information all in one place should you have a medical emergency could possibly save your life.

I take a number of drugs for high blood pressure, arthritis, sciatica type nerve pain and and so on. I wonder often whether these meds are compatible, or not. I worry about side affects. My doctor tells me what I try to remember to ask but this app l lets me dig in further. Also in the tools it allows you to receive emails if something is discovered that was concerning like a med that is being discontinued. Also if you are wondering about a drug (not necessarily prescribed yet) and wonder if it would interact with other meds you are taking already- it can tell you that too. If I remember right you can set up separate lists for other people in your family also.
Also I’ve found some over the counter supplements are included. I loaded this app on my iPhone and one time in the hospital found it really handy when asked about what meds I was taking. In my experience, it was well worthwhile adding and setting up.Show less
